  1. Autoglass came and replaced my windscreen - eversince then i have a smear right in the drivers eye line

have changed wiper blades - tried bending the arms - have cleaned with every know toxic chemical going - still cannot get rid!!

morale of the story - double check the wipers yourself before they leave!!!

  2. I use a Tecknet FM transmitter from wilco's for about £14 - decent enough till i can justify spending the cash on a new unit...

Biggest plus over the tape adapter is that you can wedge your ipod in the tape hole - Bonus!!

Anyone else interested in this modification - i can upload some pictures!!

  3. Dear Oracle,

Just looking into getting the car serviced and initially when i bought the car the man at the garage said 9000 miles, however popped in the garage on the way back from work and after jointly referring to the manual (and also the fact that the oil is fully synthetic) he is now saying 18000 miles or maximum a year???

tried to search the forum and found nothing conclusive...

Simplistically is the service interval 9000 or 18000??

  4. I'd be more inclined to go for a minimum 10 year + property - logic thinking that any problems would have surfaced by that point and rectified - also you may have options to modify/extend the older buildings whereas new build plot sizes are conservative...

Problem with properties being built at the moment is the "majority" are having to be built at reduced costs which in turn must mean reduced quality, we know of 2 or 3 couples that have purchase new buildings (from previously reputable builders) and they have had no end of problems with plumbing issues (underfloor heating valves/pipe leaks) and damp via the mortar on brick ties etc etc... and its a nightmare trying to get anything resolved via the NHBC!!

Good luck which ever way you go!!

  5. Bit of advise please...

Somebody driving a red car doored my car!! B'stards!!

"Luckily" After getting the red paint off - the actual door panel was not creased but has left a dimple...

Any ideas on how to get it out?? do not know if the doors are sealed up so i'm a bit wary of pushing out from the inside...

Asked the ole gal if she would suck it out but she declined!!

  6. i did not know this but....

apparently tyres have a shelf life, places like holburns, sts etc. do not see that many cars with "unique" tyres and if they have been sitting on the shelf for too long they harden up!!

Better to buy tyres from a wholesaler and get a garage to install...

  7. what ho gents

photo's of my z all "de-beet lorried" best i could do with a pressure washer and a chamois - hopefully santa will bring alot of cleaning products!!

Ok - when i put the car away in the garage the brakes always bind the following morning...

Monday night after watching the "Expendables" (pretty poor film considering the cast) i even went out to the garage and rocked the car, after a couple of pings all seemed ok, come Thursday lunchtime went out again and they are bound up again...

Is there any way to avoid this phenomenon??

  8. gents,

    no probs - ask away...

to be fair the main roads/bus routes around our way are well sorted in the inclement weather, the other roads just get left and you could potentially be playing pick a tree, at the start of the cold spell bottled out and took wifey's flyin fusion into work (watton-norwich commute)...

Blakeney - very nice, life style of the rich and famous  ... Watton would probably be classed as its poorer in-bred cousin...

  9. Afternoon one & all - just a couple of lines as an intro...

Purchased my vehicle just over a month ago, its a "bog standard" - 05 - gun metal grey zed with 22k on the clock, pictures will follow but at the moment its in a bl##dy messy state as i use it as my everyday car and i seem to spend my life following beet lorries to and from work (perk of living in the sticks i suppose)

Bit of an impulse buy, had been thinking down the lines of a tt quattro, but a dealer in Hethersett put this on his forecourt and after just over a week of seeing it - it was mine!!...

Zed's are not just good they are "put a smile on your face" good, previous cars include peugeot 407 & a nissan navara so driving this is a revelation...

Expect plenty of dumb-arsed questions in the future as i know very little about cars and i want to treat this as more of hooby as opposed to just owning a car...
