  1. Right, I have just reconfirmed with Caroline at Beaulieu of our numbers. She's putting plot together for us that can accommodate up to 50 cars and we'll be the biggest gathering of all other marques and models, so this is a good show on our part. Understand there are over 200 vehicles there on display, plus of course the excellent museum and theme park around it.

It should be an AWESOME day and the weather is looking like it should be reasonable for the Sunday too!

Can I please stress the pre-meet point and the respective times. Because of this event, its size and indeed our own size, we ALL need to arrive at Beaulieu at the same time, therefore we all need to meet at Tesco around 9am and we aim to leave no later than 9.20 (if anyone has watched the film 'Clockwise', they'll know that time well)!

See you all on Sunday! :)

  2. Thought it was already sorted as per the following

    Sizer Way

    Dibden

    Southampton

    Hampshire

    SO45 5JA

    England

9 am please, that will give us time to collect the late comers. Before setting off in convoy for around 10 minutes to reach the final way point.

Yup, correct. Aim to be at Tesco for 9am. I'll try and get there a little before that. Event organisers suggest we need to ALL arrive together and the earliest we can get there is 9.30am

I don't really do this, but I am putting up my mobile number just incase, 07510169836. We have 25 Z32s going, 21 of you guys and probably half a dozen from zclub.net making nearly 50 in total!

I'll be speaking to the event organisers tomorrow.

  3. Right guys. Glad the numbers are increasing! We'll aim to meet offsite a few miles away so that we can all convoy in together as per show organisers' requests. I'll post more details over the next coming days. I think we have nearly 50 cars going (appreciate some will drop out), but I guess at the least, we'll have about 40 Z cars there which will be awesome! Let's outnumber those Scooby and Honda boys! :)

  4. Only a small number have dropped out, so I'll be looking to get a stand capable of holding up to 40 cars. We have around 25 on the Z32 forum, a couple from Zclub and the 15 we have here. I am sure numbers will change slightly, but that should give us a decent enough plot.

Nearler the time, Steve (z32bolt) and I will arrange meet points and/or convoys for those driving from further afield. I'll be driving down from the Bristol area, Steve is local-ish.

If your driving down from Bristol I will join in with you. I live in Trowbridge so could meet you on route. Let me know what route you're planning to take. ;)

Sounds good to me. I was looking at taking the A350 pretty much all the way there out of Chippenham or take the A36 and maybe meet in Warminster, so that works quite well. I'll fix up convoy/meet points in the coming few weeks, but I'm up for that.

Those others, thanks, I'll add you to the list and will do a final roll call a few weeks before the event so that we have enough parking spaces. I think we'll still be around the 40-45 car mark, which is excellent!

Remember also, that if your name's down and you're going, you'll need to register on the Beaulieu website for tickets, or via phone. I think you might be able to pay on the gate.

We'll meet a few miles off site before hand and will travel in in a large convoy at the organiser's request. :)

  6. Right guys! Apologies for being lame and not appearing on here sooner! Been really busy and also have been out of the country! Anyway, that aside, I have been speaking with Caroline at Beaulieu today and we'll soon be needing final numbers as she needs to know how big our club plot will need to be (which answers a previously asked question regarding parking together). If I can have final names by the end of the month, that would be great.

So far, I have 25 from the 300zx owners club, I can see interest in here from the following:

If there are any of you that can not make this date, please can you let me know asap, perversely, if there are any of you that still want to go and haven't registered an interest, please speak now or forever be silent! smile.gif

    1) grundy225

    2) Aliveboy (providing his 'then wife' will release him from his shakles)

    3) Humpy (poss)

    4) A9H-RX

    5) Edd20022

    6) Almeida1234

    7) andy james

    8) buster

    9) kite 350

    10) Ebized

    11) Yampiedog (poss)

    12) Kraziekatz1 (poss)

    13) firemansim

    14) CharlieGSXR

    15) Harryjax

    16) Will370z (?)

In terms of booking, this needs to be done independently either over the phone, via their website or on the day at the gate.

We also have a number of cars from the Zclub - hoping to push 40+ cars in total, which is a healthy number.

  7. Righty....final details for Sunday:

Aim to be at Podimore Services by 9am - 9.15am. It'll be a good chance for everyone to meet up as there are a number of folks who'll not be taking their Z cars. I am suggested heading off in convoy about 9.45am at the absolute latest as Haynes want all cars that are going to be on show to be on-site by 10 to register and collect our wrist-bands. Haynes Museum is only about 10-15 minutes away,

Now, this is a car-show, not wanting to sound anal, but please make sure your cars are clean! :)

The show lasts all day and car owners in the show, you're encouraged (by the organisers) to stay until the award ceremony at 4 (given by John Haynes himself). Appreciate some of you may have commitments, like myself, I have to head to Portsmouth and I'll likely be leaving about 2pm. There will be plenty to do during the day. Museum visit, a parade lap around the track, a few group runs into the country, show & shine competitions and food, plus over 100 private cars on show from MG Midgets to Bristol Fighters and so on and so forth.

Weather forecast is currently dry, but cloudy, so bring a sweater just in case you find 20 degrees a little cool.

Postcode for Podimore Services is BA22 8JG. It's off of the Podimore Roundabout on the A303.

If you're coming from the London direction, keep in the left lane and take the first exit off. The road kinda double backs and keep your eye out for the entrance, again, on the left - See below (Podimore Roundabout Exit on A303)

    podimore3_zpsf12416d5.jpg

If you're coming from the Yeovil/Exeter way, you go right at Podimore roundabout on the A303, so get in the right lane and turn and you'll see it signposted.

    podimore2_zpsef2615c5.jpg

There are a number of other country roads that join up with this roundabout, but the A303 is the main road. It's not the biggest service station in the world, but there should be parking there as there's a Travelodge, Burger King/Little Thief + an Esso or Total petrol station. I am not entirely sure at what part of the service station we'll meet as I'll imagine a few other car clubs will be meeting there at a similar time, but hopefully we'll be able to all bunch up together.

Service station entrance. It's slightly hidden on the slip round, so keep your eyes peeled for the left turn and this is the view you'll have.

If anyone gets there late and we're not there, the postcode for Haynes Motor Museum is BA22 7LH If you're coming from Podimore Roundabout, head toward Andover/London on the A303 and exit on the Sparkford/Castle Cary junction. Head down the hill until you get to the T-Junction at the bottom and turn right. Haynes Motor Museum is about 200 yards further down that road on the left.

Lastly, if anyone has any problems or gets lost, my number again is 07510169836[

    Andy James - 2007 Nissan 350z

  9. Thanks Andy James!

Got your details and will add them to the list. We have about 10-12 cars going now. An assortment of 240z, 260z, 300zxs and now a 350z. Nice little Z car turnout, something that seldom happens anywhere south of the Billing Aquadrome!

This is going to be a fun event! Just found out that all drivers of entered cars get free admission to the museum, there are various cruises, a parade lap on their track, various show and shine competitions and John Haynes is doing an awards ceremony at about 4. Over 100 cars going and the weather looks dry!! :)

  10. Hi all, my name is Simon and I frequent the 300zx and zclub forums as well as being a moderator on the US 300zx club forum. I'm heavily involved in the Z scene and I'm in the process of trying to generate interest in a large into-club Z meet at Haynes Motor Museum on the 1st of September.

Haynes Motor Museum is an awesome place. We had a Z32 meet there about 6 or 7 years ago and people came from Wales, Devon, Cornwall, the south coast. I think it's high time another large gathering was organised for those that either don't want to make the drive up to northern wherever to where most of the large shows are or who fancy something a little different.

This was posted yesterday evening on the Z32 forums and we already have a nice collection of attendees who've put their names down.

There are some awesome cars here and it really is a great day out and not expensive. If anyone isn't aware of this place, then I'd be surprised. It's owned by John Haynes who started the Haynes Manuals and is one of the largest car collections in the UK. Entrance is only a tenner, so it isn't going to break anyone's bank. There are cars from all walks of life from classics to super cars, even a few chavy modified things that they built with Lax Power, so if you're into your filler and fibreglass, you can get your fix here too! :)

Sunday September 1st is actually the 'rare breeds event' and it certainly would be good to bring some Z-Cars to the mix. Hoping to get some interesting Z cars from zclub to come along.
