  1. I'll ask the guy who's doing mine next week and put some picks up when it's done so you can see the job he's done.
  2. ok spoke to the owner of the bodyshop my car is in with - seems the roof scoop is to cool the cabin as clio cup cars don't come with fans and they can get pretty hot in there on race days. It's not a performance thing anyway! My car is getting there - will post up picks when she's done!
  3. It's a clio cup car - that's how they come. It was in to have graphics done before the race season started. Im pretty sure they dont. A few guys who have 200's cups dont have them. Plus a roof scoop on a clio is pointless it slows you down as there is no air going to the engine. if it's racing in the Clio Cup then it will come with the scoop, and the OP did say it was getting the decals ready for the racing season? Yeah the car is racing in the clio cup ... this is the team and the car after the respray. http://www.20tenracing.co.uk/
  4. Yeah we go to the Derbyshire RSOC meets :-) the other half had an escort cosworth before the focus and then an Escort 1600i before that and an Escort XR3i before that. He's a huge ford fan. I agree - I prefer the mk 1 - do like the look of the RS500 they're bringing out though.

  6. Focus before (having been stripped down): ... during: ... after: ... Clio cup car in for respray (taken before graphics were added but still looking pretty smart): Zed before - with bumper different colour to rest of car: Someone had obviously reversed it into another car too cos my bumper is all bumpy - I don't have any pictures of this though out of shame lol (wasn't me who did it though and it got me a lot of money knocked off the selling price)
  7. Took it to a place just off Ascot Drive called Lee's bodyshop (near Remploy). It's a guy who has just set up in business on his own. He was at Chartwells for a good few years as it happens (but think he got bored with lamborginis lol) and a place called CARS if you've heard of it before that. He worked on our Focus RS - gave it a full hit as the standard paint job was rubbish. Looks amazing now. Hoping the Z comes back just as nice :-)
  8. ... can't wait to get it back. Having new rear bumper, rear passenger side quarter panel, all the stone ships painted, and a polish. Plus wheels refurbed Should be like a new car when she gets home
  9. Huge thanks to Alex - got the battery this morning! Car is in the bodyshop though lol I'll test it works when I get it back!
  10. Lol did cost me a new power steering pump lol but hey ho!
  11. I'd start looking at making it lighter if I were you, they're heavy cars anyway and just by putting a few carbon parts on it I'm sure weight can be saved. That way you get a better power to weight ratio, breaks won't need to work as hard, be better handling, etc so lots of birds - one stone I wouldn't say the Zed is the most tunable car. I've looked into it sice I got mine and I'd say £ for £ you don't get much power gain on the money you dish out compared to say the old cosworths (cos I see you're a ford man in a past life - good lad btw!).
  12. Sorry if this is in the wrong section but wasn't sure where to post it. Basically my battery has gone on my spare set of keys. I wondered if anyone knew if I could just get a replacement battery and swap them or if I needed to take it to a main dealer to get the key reprogrammed????
  13. Hi Maccaman, I always fill her with super. Sometimes v-power but mostly the stuff from Sainsbury's.
  14. Hey Tarmac - that must have been me! (I am the missus lol) Really sorry I didn't wave though - how rude hey! I must have been in a world of my own (very likely). Was you in your Zed? I live Littleover way. If you ever see a gunmetal grey z on a 56 going sideways round the Islands at Pride Park - well that's the hubbie. Bless him lol he's gonna cost me a fortune in tyres
  15. Cheers Vik - yeah you make a good point, the last owner drove her very carefully, you could tell from the tyres. I'll take your advise with the panel filters, flush through and the oil (no idea what is in her now TBH) and obviously the tlc. Tlc you can count on actually, she has a few stone chips and a few bumps here and there. I've booked her into a local bodyshop (ex Chartwells guy) to sort her out. I think tracking her will be a rare event lol
  16. Cheers everyone - gotta say been reading some posts and this looks like a really friendly forum, wish I'd posted sooner
  17. Cool that's good to know Won't feel so guilty on track next time lol
  18. Hey everyone, Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm pretty new to the Z scene. Bought her in February and I must say I absolutely love driving her, they are awsome cars aren't they! A few weeks back I put her on a rolling road, just to see how she was running (took her to a very reputable place that we have used before as we've heard horror stories about some). It did raise a few questions though. She's standard on a 56 plate, the guy there said she was running perfect but she only made 267bhp. I say only - that is more than enough for me really but I did think on the 2006 model I'd get something nearer 300bhp. Just wondered if anyone had any ideas on the difference. My other half thinks it's due to the fact she is coming up to needing her next service and with a new filter, new oil etc she'll be nearer 300bhp. BTW I took her to Croft race circuit last weekend with the Derbyshire RS Owners Club (my other half has a Focus RS) and got the opportunity to put her on track just for a couple of sessions ... she was absolutely faultness and really stood her own. Silly to track her when I'm worried about her running right I know but couldn't resist!
