Have the 350Z just with 20" tyres/alloys as the only mod and a Nissan X-Trail.
Got 9 years no claims with the 350Z and got 2 years for the Nissan X-Trail.
My 350Z wasn't due for renewal for another 10 weeks but my X-Trail was due. I got Admiral for my X-Trail last year and it ended up being cheaper to go with another insurance company separate.
Anyhow, this year Admiral phoned with the usual requote and when I said I had another car but its unlikely you can do it cheaper as you couldn't last year they said they would put it through and see what it comes out as :
Last year 2011-12 as seperate vehicles and 1 year less insurance no claims I got :
X-Trail - Admiral - 1 year no claims and one named driver - £542
350Z - Elephant - 8 years no claims and no named driver, fully comp & protected £342
TOTAL 2011-12 for the two cars -> £884
This year 2012-13 as multicar policy with the 20% additional discount on both vehicles I got :
X-Trail - Admiral - 2 years no claims and one named driver - £368
350Z - Admiral - 9 years no claims and no named driver, fully comp & protected £211 (pro-rata'd for the year minus 10 weeks)
TOTAL 2012-13 for the two cars -> £579
I thought the £211 ( even pro rata'd it only ends up at about £260 give or take for the year which I was pretty impressed with )
Just to double check, once I'd done an elephant, moneysupermarket and confused search and found nothing near to this, I then phoned a telephone broker that I know that can often beat what you see on internet. Name 'Computerquote', tel: 0800 3285535 but he said to take the £579 as the best he could find was £1000 upward.
Admiral also said that even though my other insurance was 10 weeks away and therefore just shy of 10 month, they would still count it as a full year's no claims.
I'm very happy this year but a little worried that admiral don't try and really bump it up next year, once I'm in so to speak. It is less hassle doing it in one go but I'll still shop around next year for two single quotes to see if it can beat Admiral's multicar policy.
Hope this helps anyone looking for insurance.
For information, I got this insurance sorted in March 2013.
