  1. Hello all

The drama that is my Zed just rolls on and on since the IPDM fuse box filled with water and my car said enoughs enough and stopped working ..... the mechanic says he needs a wiring diagram relating to the looms that come off the IPDM so he can work out which ones are related to the ecu feed etc ........and i cant find one ... i have no owners manual ..... is there a Haynes that cover it or would good old nissan have one

Again any help or ideas as im clueless

    Thanks

    MIke

  2. Hi all

I recently posted on here that my Zed would not start one eve and RAC man could not find out what was wrong so my car just scraped up onto the low loader and was shipped to a garage well they could not read JOBD but said never fear good old motor mechanics will track the prop and to be fair they did up to a point they told me a fuse box behind the battery was full up with water and the relays had water dripping out of them. i have not had the chance to get to the garage to see which fuse box but i thought there was one infront of the battery not behind but that it also has the battery cover covering it so how can it fill up with water ?? .........they have dried out the fuse box but it still wont fire so im after any ideas on what it may be, i can buy a fault code reader but im guessing it will say everything is faulty ? when i tried it at first the fans came on and stayed on not sure if they are still doing it now

they say poss buying a new or second hand fuse box may solve the prob ........

like i say any ideas will be greatfully recieved as im gutted

    thanks

    mike

  3. thanks for the help .. i did make sure the a/c was off and pulled the fuse for the fan next to the battery and one went off but one stayed on ...... couldnt hear the fuel pump prime so the "possibles - fuel pump, fuel pump fuse, fuel pump relay, cam/crank position sensor, immobiliser fault that is cutting the fuel/ignition" seem worth a look at and i wish i could have got the codes but the RAC mans diagostic comp would not connect with the car .......... does an import still connect to uk diagnostic units or is a different unit needed, i dont know too much about the to be honest

Hi mate, you need like ones that reads imports. I bought one off eBay a while ago and that worked. Where abouts u based ?

im based in hastings .... have you got a name for the one you got please and how much was it

    thanks

  5. HI

Not often on here but im a man in desperte need my 2005 import has been up to now very reliable but i go to start it after work and it just keeps turning over but not fireing, had the RAC man out and he could not connect to the cars computor, so i have a couple of questions

1... never noticed before but when you turn on the ignition does the cooloing fans kick in straight away as they are at the mo

2... can you normally hear the fuel pump pressurise as you turn on the ignition as the RAC man seemed to think you could

3... he sprayed easy start up the air filter and it still didnt try to start so could that mean its not fuel related

I know its probably impossible to diagnose like this but im after ideas or if i get really lucky someone may have come accross this problem before either way any help will greatly recieved

    thanks

    Mike

  7. when i removed my head unit it had three connectors on the back one had only one wire blue and white but not quite the same as the amp power up leads was this the sub lead and how easy is it to use the pre out sub rca to power up my bose amp and (pretty please) how do i go about it

    thanks

    mike

  8. i replaced my bose head unit and followed a detailed thread and it worked but the volume was low so after more searching i found zed shed thread on not useing rca outputs and hey presto works a treat only now im wondering if i can use one of the rca outputs (sub one) to directly power up the sub is this poss or am i getting ahead of myself

    mike

  9. i have just done this to mine as i had poor volume and was very disapointed with the results but now its so much louder a big thanks to all who have posted different things that i have followed, and i have read so many from what was needed to how to do it and now how to improve it again thanks for taking the time to post so that a techo spastic like me that likes to do things himself is very greatful

  10. I have just replaced the headunit on the bose system (with a fair amount of help from on here) and it sounds poor at best, whilst i expected it not to sound great i was hoping for better.......

Is there a way of improving it cheaply i have seen rca boosters would these work and i have seen a thread about someone just replacing the amp with a Genesis profile four..... now whilst i like to think im not a stupid man i do have a less than average understanding of audio electronics.

So i ask if there is any advice as to how i can get reasonable sound for as little as possible as i dont have the money for a complete overhaul just yet

    In advance i thank you

  11. Can anyone help me please i have a jap import with a bose and i have read all the posts on here and thought i had it sussed (hmmm over confidence is a bitch)

Im trying to put a pioneer fh-x700bt which has two rca outputs as required and got this lead http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/cel-ais2260-iso-nissan-350z-with-bose-audio-system-to-rca.html ...

I followed the posts that said i had to splice the earth and connect them to a good earth with a spare wire ...... the radio turns on but i have no sound at all.......... the cars wireing loom has the two main connectors but also it has a third that plugged into the stereo under the other two it only has a single wire which is white with a blue line,

Can anyone let me know what this is ........ if i have missed something........ if i need to check if the amps are turning on

    thanks mike
