  1. £1700 for a second hand unit then "£$%^ to fit . So she traded it in, they dropped the trade in by £1000 so a ++ for her.

Only way I could think of testing is by trying to accelerate realy hard at about 2/2200 revs. and see it takes off, hers didn't and sounded rather rattly.

fook me! thats a bill i could do without

  2. My wife has had one for a few years now. The only thing that's gone wrong in 45,000 miles is a stuck cigar lighter thing that was replaced under warranty, and a fuse box recall. It'll also carry 3 adults in back and all their luggage without much fuss, the Sat Nav is fab, and the dash is still spaced aged compared to most other cars.

The 2.2 CTDI engine is a good one, I think the torque figures are not far off the Zs!! Personally I probably wouldn't bother with a remap, the rest of the driving experience is just too bland, useless brake, no steering feel, understeers and rolls around corners. The most fun I've ever have driving it is trying to keep the MPG above 50  Still not a bad little car, but now that the wife has driven the Bimmer a few times she's demanding RWD for her next car

    are you selling yours? :)

  3. Hi Guys and Girls, once again i'm talking about non 350z related stuff so apologies for that but its because this forum is so good that i always end up here. (I've still got my 350z which i love to bits but its tucked up in the garage as we're on a big cash saving mission for a house build project).

I get a generous car allowance from work that i currently use to lease a BMW 330D touring M Sport which is a great car. However I plan to send it back, buy my own car and pocket the car allowance to go towards the house.

My budget is approx £6k, i've looked around and have come to the decision that i want a Honda Civic 2.2CDTI. Mainly because of reliability, looks and the possibility of remapping to approx 190bhp.

Has anybody got any experience of these? Are they like all other Honda's and have great reliability?

I've looked on honda dealers (too expensive), ebay, pistonheads and autotrader and the choices aren't great for my budget, is there other places i should be looking?

    Any help much appreciated

  4. i thought i would update the thread after everybody helped me and i was so indecisive.

I ended up buying a Renault Clio 02 plate 1.5 diesel. really didnt want to go french due to reliability worries but i have got AA breakdown repair cover on it so any bills they will pay the first £500 anyway.

The thing that made my mind up was the running costs. 60mpg, £30 for 12 months tax and very low insurance (£450 for the year with no no claims discount)

  5. Hi guys and girls, please could you help me. My battery has given up on me so i need a replacement and havent got a clue where to start.

My car is a post 06 uk roadster

    Any help much appreciated

p.s i have searched but only found one thread that was quite old but didnt really answer my questions

  6. thanks gurjeet that was my point but i you did a better job of putting it across.

to be honest i wouldnt expect anything else from ekona, pretty much every reply i have seen him put usually involves him looking down his nose at people

  7. thanks doogyrev for your helpful comment and thanks ekona/captain for your for the comments albeit stating the obvious.

I was only double checking more on the side of converting bar into psi as its something i have never had to do before, only ever had tyre pressures given in psi.

  8. hi guys and girls, ive got an e91 320d for business with run flat tyres. I've just checked the tyre pressures and the stickers on the door sills says 2.3 bar in the front and 2.8 bar in the back.

According to my local air machine 2.8 bar is 41 psi and 2.3 bar is 33 psi.

Firstly 41 psi seems really high

secondly it seems a big difference to have between front and rear 8psi.

    any thoughts?

  9. im sorry im being a pain in the arse. im so confused. i must have changed my mind 7 times today and i have spent the last 5 hours searching.

    ive gone from

about £1000 vw passat 1.9tdi (insurance expensive)

about £500 vauxhall corsa 1.0 petrol (less safe and cant claim back any of the fuel through work cos its petrol)

about £1000 vw golf 1.9tdi (to get a decent one its above my budget....still an option)

about £1000 focus 1.8 diesel (same as above with golf)

about £1000 clio 1.9 diesel (french..still unsure and new ones are top of my budget)

about £500 old clio 1.9 diesel (french..still unsure and very old 93-96 my)

oooooohhh the choices its doing my head in.
