  1. As per title. Sold my 2 year old Twilight grey 370Z GT + satnav a few weeks ago.

Has been a very nice car to own. Got approving looks wherever I went. Was plenty quick enough, and never put a foot wrong. Will miss it.

Have now bought an Audi R8.

  2. Why not just keep it and use it on a weekend?

I bought mine nearly 2 years ago, and due to various reasons I've done less than 7000 miles in that time.

Was thinking about selling it on, but the depreciation hit would be too much. So going to keep it another year and see what the market is like.

No one is buying thirsty second hand cars at the minute.

  3. Had Bridgstone tyres (RE070's) on my old Subaru. Hated them. Found the tyre walls to stiff, and wet weather grip was poor.

Changed to Michelin Pilot Sport 2's. Made a hell of a difference.

Found the Bridgestone on the 370 not as bad. But come replacement time i'll probably try the Michelin Pilot Sport 3's.

  4. I have to say, I've enjoyed this series of 5th Gear more than most. It went down hill when the tried to copy the Top Gear format of c0cking about.

The introduction of that Mr. Inapropriate (don't know his real name) and before him Tim fcuking Lovejoy, was just 2 wrong moves out of many wrong moves.

I't enjoyable watching Tiff & Plato doing shootouts and even better when they have a race. I like Jonny and thought that when him and Tom Ford did features together, they were really good features, and both are quite witty.

Bring back Tom Ford. Have him & Jonny doing features together.

Ditch Ben Collins, and have Tiff & Plato doing features together.

    Ditch the trollop.

  5. Checked the oil level at the weekend, and it was half way down.

Looked in the handbook, but no mention of either fully synth, or semi-synth.

Went to local dealer who stated Fully Synth, but didn't know what type (10W30 etc) was in it, so phoned the dealer I bought the car from but they stated Semi Synthetic oil.

Confused, so I phone Nissan customer services who weren't too sure either but suggested Fully synthetic.

What are people topping the oil up with?

Have bought Castrol Magnetex Fully synthetic 5W 30 (A1), but before I top it up I just want to be sure I've bought the right stuff.

    Advice would be very appreciated.

    Cheers

    Wayne

  6. Chris, you're bang on the money there.... just heard back from my local Nissan dealer who's been looking into it and basically he's said it would be cheaper to trade the car for a new one!!! Apparently, the whole system would need replacing, as would much of the car's interior, and the cost would be well over 4 grand!! I'm still waiting to hear back from customer services, but I'm guessing I'll just have to count my losses on that one.

    Any further update Matt?

Was going to phone customer services myself. £4k is a p1ss take for a Sat-Nav upgrade.

  7. Got home last night and looked at the milometer and there it was the magic 1400 miles, the Z has finally reached the recommended run in figure :#1:

and all I can say is OH MY GOD.. the bloody thing is awesome, I have had fast cars before but nothing comes close to the 370z, the noise after 4500 rpm is remarkable, and the torque just keeps pulling like a train right until you look down at the speedo and your eyes widen considerably :scare:

I am so gona lose my licence, :headhurt:

Am I a happy bunny? oh yes yes yes..

    :D

    1400 Miles??

I got past 500, and started using more of the revs. By 1000 miles, it was getting the full rev range.

  8. Is the nav touch screen? For £1500 you should have the Connect Premium pack which comes on the MY2010 models which means you get upgraded satnav with touchscreen and full postcode support. This should also mean you can just connect your iPod to the USB socket in the armrest and the satnav screen can control everything. But going by the date of your car, I'm guessing its a MY2009 you have, which I beleive has a funny connector in the armrest and they should have supplied the ipod cable with it, and also should have only cost £1400 extra. But it still controls the iPod AFAIK.

If you can, post up a pic of inside the armrest and we can tell for sure

Yeah, it's a 2009 model car. No touchscreen.

Never recieved any cables for the Ipod when I collected the car, so will have to enquire at dealer. Or just pck some up at Halfords.

Bit pee'ed off over this. The car hasn't even been out a year, and the Sat Nav has been upgraded. :bang:

TBH I don't think the dealer knows very much anyway, as I was originally told in order to control the Ipod, you have to change tracks via the ipod itself. So no controlling via the stereo. Hence why I never bothered to look for the cables. Just I'm getting sick of CD's in the car.

    Thanks for the welcome everyone.

Weather permitting, I'll take some pics and get them uploaded this weekend.

  9. Hi everyone.

I bought a new 370Z in December as a weekend car, but due to all the snow we've had it's hardly been out for any fun, hence only 650 miles on it in over 2 months.

If I connect my Ipod to the satnav via cable in the arm rest, can the Satnav pick up the track listings etc allowing me to control the Ipod via the Satnav?

I hear Nissan has upgraded the Satnav to the 370Z, and will be pretty cheesed off if I can't connect my Ipod after spending £1500 on a Satnav.

Don't want to buy the cables if it won't work the way I want, as having to control the Ipod via the Ipod itself is rubbish.

Anyway, hope to start posting on here a bit now, so Hi to everyone.
