Fed up with rusty, overheating turbo cars Ive decided to give the N/A route a go and build it up myself.... :wack:
Step in one lucky bid on a cheap 350Z! Picked this up accidentally (put a cheeky bid in on Ebay not expecting to win) for £5900 - '03 import with 30,000 miles/Km in fair nick!
Well happy with it, everything is straight, rust free and running nice.
It will be kept as a daily, so not planning to compete immediatly in it, just plenty of track/drift days :nod:
Drifts really well in standard trim, although can feel its weight (1430Kg). The back end is heavy and really wants to overtake the front when sideways! :smash:
So have collected these parts already,
Driftworks Suzuka seat with bride mounts
Driftworks CS2's
Kinetix Alignment arms set
07' (with the bulge) Carbon bonnet
Japspeed Exhaust (cutting up to make single exit)
De-cat pipes
JWT Popcharger
Defi BF Oil and water temp, and oil pressure gauges.
and here is my shopping list come payday
Rota SVN's 18x10
Carbon rear Hatch
Intake plenum spacer
Tomei 2 Way with 3.9 final drive
and pending funds, exedy stage 2 clutch and lightened flywheel.
Will try and document the build as I go along, and will hopefully be at he pod on 15th September as long as I dont brake anything!

How I had it fitted...

Bought this from EPRacing a few weeks a go. Decided to give with UpRev come pay day so wont need this anymore.
Great bit of kit, so easy to fit and use.
Is as new, been on my car for a week only. Now taken off and boxed back up.

Paul - Yes mate, looking forward to fitting it all up!
Theres plenty about, just wanted to see what was available here.
Not at all after a concours car! Im sure plenty of you will hate me for saying that this car will get used and abused - but looked after all the same!

Looking to buy a cheap 350Z at the end of the month, will have £7000 budget, looking for something cheap, import?
Car will be pulled apart as a drift project so condition isnt a major concern as long as it can pass an MOT and preferably has TAX.
Can poss go up to around £7500 if its a goodun
Please contact me via PM

Get on Driftworks.com.
Thier hydro's are great ive used them plenty of times, they use a wilwood cylinder.
They are easy to fit, however you need to find somewhere to mount them, and that usually means welding in a plate to mount them to. Then its a case if running the lines through the car and bleeding the set up - which takes time, but done correctly isnt that hard.
Go for it!

Does the sandwich plate have taps in it for gauge sensors??

That is lovely, wish my car would sell so i can buy this!

Thanks for the kinds words guys
Been working out a quick short list of bolts ons to play with in the summer, see what you think;
4.08 Final drive with a Kaaz 2-way LSD
HSD Coilovers
Full japspeed set up, manifolds, y pipe, cat back
Plenum spacer, not sure which
UpRev tune up from Abbey
and some sort of CAI, also not sure what to go for yet
Any rocommendations? do's and dont's?
Will see how that runs for a while, concentrate more on the footwork (suspension arms, sway bars etc) then would like to go for a set of brian crower cams with the springs etc. Hoping with the weight loss and final drive should be enough to drift with competatively.
Will certainly start a build thread, just a shame i have to wait so long!
Although will be back for 2 weeks in the middle of my tour sometime and hope to pick up the car in that time, then order the above parts whilst im away for the second half, will be like Christmas when im back!

Hi everyone, i'm Will. Been into drifting for a long time, and have built numerous Toyota's all with 1JZ engine's. Been DIY building/tuning these cars for about 5 years now and am looking for something a bit more challenging!
Bit of a stupid time to join as i'm flying out to Afghanistan tomorrow, but intend to get plenty of research underway whilst im out there for my return in 6 months time
I plan to buy a Cat-D front end damaged 350Z, which i can repair and hopefully improve on to save money. Will go down the N/A route initially, maybe SC later on. Mainly intend on getting as much weight out of the car as possible, want to aim for around 1250kg, and about 300-320hp at the fly, i think they are both fairly optimistic figures but achievable with the right ideas
Anyways, goodbye for now!

Right here we go, so fitted my suspension package this afternoon. All went on pretty straight forward, ran out of daylight to set it all up though. Just managed to get it all on the car...
Standard set-up nice and clean - I like!
Front CS2's and Kinetix A-arms;
Rear CS2's and Kinetax camber and toe rods;
Tomorrow, SLAMMING and de-cat pipes
