    Diagnostics

is a diagnostics usually ran asa part of a service? I have a P1 due and the garage has said its an extra £60 ish to get the diagnostics done.... is this normal ? had a warning light come on sso want to make sure all is ok... thanks
  2. OK, sounds like I need to do the code ID thing first.... I have seen a post on here explaining how to do that.. sounds a little complicated! May just take it to a dealer to get the code... Anyway, thanks again for all your help.
  3. Many thnanks for the repies all. Yes, the second time it came on it was at the same (high revs)... will see what it does when i drive it later.... I am surprised brake fluid could do this? will take a look though, so thanks.. Read other posts that suggest it could be a cam sensor. apparently these are quite cheap to buy ? any ideas on cost of fitting? Thanks again..
  4. Hi all, thanks for taking the time to try and help me out! I drove thismornign and as i got to about 5.5k revs, the handbrake light, and esp and slip light came on! the engien was running normall. i pulled over and restarted the car and the lights went off. next time i reved the car they came on again! I have read posts on here about engine codes etc - are the lights coming on as described a sign that i have a fault? i thought normally it was just the warning light that came on?? any help would be fantastic...
  5. well when i double de-clutch from 3rd to second I always blip the throttle.... Like I say, never done that the other way (and cant see adding revs would be a good ideas???) Once you get the hang of double de-clutching it comes as second nature ! I only do it because I learnt to drive in a mini that had no syncro in 2nd !!
  6. thanks ATTAK Z Well i normally double de clutch going down the gears, but not up them ! But I can start..... Thanks for the advice all - I'm just pleased its "normal"... Once its hot, I think the gear box is very positive....
  7. I have to shift REALLY slow to stop it doing it -You can sort of feel when its ready to go in... on a couple of occasions its really crunched in (metal on metal crunch) almost as if you had not put the clutch in... Once its warm though you can shift as fast as you want, its perfect...
  8. thanks for the replies all... Do you think , it will just go away again in the summer ?? I was getting nervous, i thought it could require an expensive fix ! Thanks again for your quick responses...
  9. Hi all, I am new to the forum, so firstly, hello ! Ok, I have an UK spec 04 350zGT that I bought in summer. I have recently noticed that when cold getting into second gear is notchy and occasionally crunches. This may sound funny, but you can really "feel" the cogs when you change. It only appears to happen from 1st to second (is fine from 3rd to second, I think !) Once warm it is as smooth as a smooth thing. Is this normal ? I feel like I am driving on egg shells. Many thanks
