  1. Cheers guys just found some 453's for £109.19 each :D job done!

Seems like a bargain. GLWTS. ;)

Cheers mate, really dont want to sell but I only use the car at weekends and dont want it sat on the road being abused all week so has to go!

  2. Think I may just go with the 453's they seem a safe bet for a budget tyre and if the new owner wants to match the fronts they are still available to do so!

  3. Selling the car so don't really mind how they are but thought I might just consider the new owner! I have falken 912's on the front and have always been fine. (then again I have only done 6k in 4 years! lol)

  4. Hi all,

Due to sell the zed soon and just my luck the Original Rear Bridgestone potenzas decide to perish and go flat (on the day I was due to take my Girlfriend away for her bday!!)

The original fronts were changes when I bought the car 4 years ago and have only covered 6k so are fine (Falken 912) They dont seem to make those now but want to match the best possible tyres for as cheap as possible.

I have found the 914's cheaper than the 453's (not by much but every little counts) but cant find any reviews on here from people that have them?

So which tyres for the new owner?

    Cheers Rog

  5. Hi,

Does anyone know what exhaust gaskets should go in each section of the OEM exhaust?

I am replacing the center section tomorrow and it has been sent with a 2 bolt 63mm metalic flat gasket and metal sealing ring.

It looks like the flat gasket goes between the center flange and y pipe and sealing ring goes from center to back box. The reason I am questioning this is that when I had the back box fitted they used a flat gasket and not the sealing ring and or both can't remember but can see flat gasket.

Just want to make sure as have the car booked into garage tomorrow afternoon and if I'm short of a flat gasket im stuck.

    Many thanks

    Roger

  6. I have had a knocking noise coming from the zed for a while, checked drop links etc wasnt that so booked into nissan dealer for a diognosis and after they checked the brakes and suspension they found a loose wheel nut to be the cause!

They blamed my spaces not having enough thread but I'm pretty sure they are just as long!

I'll be torquing mine up on a regular basis from now on!

Hope you get the zed back on the road soon

  7. Never reset the trip on mine, and can't get it over 24 :( But I guess that is a pretty good over mixed road driving?

Anyway, its not like we expect fantastic MPG when we buy them is it ?

This may be a stupid question but if you never reset the trip doesnt it just stay the same?

  8. I have recently had a bad clicking/knocking noise coming form the passenger side of the zed. I thought it was the drop links but lubed them up and made no difference (going to disconnect them at the weekend just to make sure)

It appears to make more knocking under braking so have know been advised it could be the banana bar! If it is this how safe is it to drive the car until this is identified and sorted?

I dont use the car as a daily runner but do need to take it round a few garages for some quotes.

    Cheers Rog

  9. Cheers Paul thats a big help!

Didnt realise that was the jacking point, I have been using the point on the side of the car with the two notches for the jack that comes with the car!

I am definately going to try this next weekend and see if it has an effect on the knocking noise. If not well at least its something ticked off the potential problem list!

    Good guide Ricey

  10. Evening all,

I think my droplinks need changing and have a couple of questions.

1, How can you tell that they actually need changing? (do they wear, can you rattle them by hand etc)

2, Whats the difference between the standard and uprated?

3, Are the uprated ones worth it?

    Cheers Rog

p.s I have had a quick scan but is there a how to with pics on this subject?

  11. Glad you're not more badly hurt - I guess that's an insurance job on the bike?

Not atall, my excess is more than it costs to get all the parts on ebay!!

All i needed a couple of fairings and new crash bungs, all came up to 200 in the end

The pricey bit is the engine where it got scraped prob about 80 quid for that part but ive got engine casings on the way anyway so that will be covered up

the funny thing is i ordered knee/shin protectors to go under the jeans but they didnt arrive in time and sods law i came off

Ouch! Sorry to hear this mate but glad your ok! I have those jeans so good to see they held up without too much damage! Hope you sort the bike out without too much expense! Nice number plate too

Glad you got the bike all sorted  I have noticed the standard pads move around a fair bit what strap on protectors have you gone for?

I would love to get a full set of leathers but funds restricting me at the mo  so have to stick with the kevlar for now and try and make them as safe as possible!

Jeans did a terrific job, the padding that comes with them though is totally useless as it moves out of place soon as you come off, what you need are some stand alone strap on knee/shin armour under the jeans that wont move out of place

And yeah thanks it says "R6 BYE" :teeth:B)

  12. Welcome Sam, I'm in Bognor so not too far away  Nice looking zed but the plate is definately illegal so would get that changed asap so not to draw too much attention from the feds! Is the plate yours as even tho it looks like it has been messed with still ends in Zed which is pretty cool!

  13. I'm 33 and drive about 500miles a week in all weathers and my parents tell me every year I must be careful as the "roads are slippy" and have I got a blanket, sleeping bag, change of clothes, food, coat and not forgetting a shovel!! The problem with this country is the media tells people not to go out so people dont learn to drive in all conditions!

I do have a van though so the Zeds all tucked up in the garage and isn't going anywhere!
