  1. Not really an option I'm afraid. I live in a ground floor flat with one allocated parking space, Got them up to £8600 and was a bit dicked on going any higher as it's MY insurer that valued it at £8350. Still more than I reckon I could have got for a sale on Autotrader...

Well deal done and off to do some shopping I suppose.

  2. Dear all,

I recently got rear ended in my Z and today got word that she's a Cat D write-off.

The insurers are offering £8350 outright, or £6000 and the car back. The quote from the garage is over £7000 to get her roadworthy again, but apart from the rear end it still drove and engine etc were still sound.

She's a 2006 GT in black, 61000 on the clock and values seem to be hovering around the £8500 mark on Autotrader.

Was wondering what you guys thought about the offers on the table and if I got the car back is there anyone who deals in Z breaking and spares?

    Cheers in advance.... Weasel.

  3. Not sure where to post this, but just wanted to spread the word about a great 350Z friendly garage in the Birmingham area.

After a few problems with my gearbox I figured I'd get it changed and get the flywheel and clutch done too.

All parts were supplied by the ever trustworthy Mr R35LEE who is a regular on here, and I can honestly say he was a top man throughout with arrangement for delivery etc and the prices were fantastic.

All the work was done by Zedworld http://www.zedworld.co.uk/ in Coleshill near Birmingham. They are a 300ZX specialist but are doing more 350Z work too and are absolutely top notch. All the work was done in under a day and again their prices were good too.

I cannot recommend the above highly enough.

  4. Dear all,

My gearbox is in need of changing and I'm looking into a couple of salvaged parts. I drive a 2006 and was just wondering if there are going to be any compatibility issues with any of the earlier models?

  5. Hi Y'all,

Recently my Z has been making a horrible 'clunk' noise when changing from 1st to 2nd gear. This noise is audible both inside and out but goes away as the engine warms up.

She's a 2006 with 45k on the clock. Any suggestions?

  6. Right then. After a first bit of confusion I reset the ECU and 150 miles later it's come back on, but this time I've sorted the codes! 1166 and 1167 both coming back as 'O2 sensor 2'. any ideas what that means, and is it now a trip to Nissan or is this just a faulty sensor I can fix myself?

    Cheers guys.

  7. Yeah, a 2006 GT with no mods whatsoever (a sin in itself surely?).

I'm just wondering if it's not coming up with a fault code, is it worth getting one of the guys on here to have a look or just book her in to Nissan or any other place people can recommend?

  8. A while back just before my Z had her 36,000 T3 service the engine management light came on, not flashing just on. I called out the AA who plugged in their computer and it read back as no fault code listed, so they reset it.

Service completed and a month later, Thursday just gone, the same light came on. AA called and again no fault code so just reset. I then drive off for a weekend in Wales and sunday afternoon there it is again whilst performing a slow U-turn.

WTF could it be? Will Nissan be able to tell me anything more if I take it to them to check it out? Are there any plug in computers I can buy to reset the fault code myself?

    Any advice welcome.

  9. Drag his arse onto Jeremy Kyle or Trisha (he sounds the sort) and get him lie detectored to shame him to the world!

Alternatively act like nothing is up, become 'friends' again and get in his good books. Then once around his house, over the course of a few visits sneak bits of fish into his cupboards and down between his floor boards, and using a large syringe inject his pillows, cushions and the insides of his shoes with milk.

When that lot starts to go off there is no way to get rid of the smell.

Ok, now I'm starting to scare myself......

  10. Plus as stupid as this might sound.... as the Septics drive on the 'wrong' side I take it I'll need a right hand side motor which they'll be calling a passenger side? Or is there something special about the driver's side and they just flip around?

  11. Yeah I looked at the repair guide when it first started to play up and despite it looking well explained I live in a flat with zero storage space for tools (which I don't even have at this stage so there's that additional cost).

Plus my technical skills for doing any motor brush micro surgery are lacking I suspect.

My mate and I could replace the motor between us, it's just trying to avoid that huge Nissan bill for a motor through their channels. How long do you think it would take to come through the American channels? And is it worth trying to get hold of a second hand one from a breakers?

  12. The driver's side window motor has completely given up the ghost and a new one is required.

Nissan want to charge me an absolute fortune for a new one and was wondering if anyone knew of any reputable spares firms around the Birmingham area or where I might pick up a cheaper new one?

    Cheers.
