I hope I don't get in trouble for resurecting a month old thread but I have finally had my head unit replaced (under my 3 month warranty). Unfortunately the replacement was faulty and had no sound! To top things off when they put the old one back in it now doesn't work! What should have been a half hour job turned into nearly two. So another one has been requested from Clarion and I have no tunes for another week. I can now see why the previous owner never bothered having it changed!

Thanks!! I have looked at a few, but they seem to get rather technical and then I glaze over and start to lose the will to live (traction control off, 100mph round that corner!!) I'd rather have someone say - "Hey this system will fit into your 350z and give you MP3 playability via your steering wheel controls and only costs £200"!! Sorry, but that is as far as I will go (I know my limitations and they are very limited) - alright say it, I'm buggered!!!

Wow that was a quick response! Do you know if there are upgrade options available or just a more suitable replacement? The 370Z must have a better system! If necessary I will get the new unit and then sell it to finance a better model.

About 3 weeks ago I bought an 05 GT4 and am now having the skipping and sound problems that seem to be common. I have been told by the garage that I purchased from that they need to take the head unit out, get the relevant serial numbers and order a replacement. They said that this was a common issue and the newer units should not suffer from the same problems (from threads on this forum I obviously stressed that I did not want a reconditioned unit). I was told that I had to wait 28 days from the date of purchase before a new unit (costing approx £600!!) could be ordered. Being a newb and pretty green I was hoping that someone on here could confirm that this is all true. I was also wondering if the newer units are identical to the current ie a 6 CD unit with a cassette deck!! or is there an upgrade option for MP3 etc.. I find it hard to believe in this day and age that a cassette deck is even fitted, so am hoping that the newer model is technologically superior. Sorry if this has been asked and answered before, but the threads I have read are way over my head and I need a little more clarity:blush: Cheers, Andy.

In answer to Maccaman's question: My first car was a present from my Dad after passing my test - A yellow Vauxhall Viva (that he bought off my great uncle!) Next was an F reg red Nova 1.3 SR Then an L reg Black Vauxhall Astra 1.6i Cesaro M reg Red Honda 1.6 VTI CRX (160 bhp) - Which I loved! Red Honda Type R 03 reg (30th Anniversary) Hopefully if the DVLA can get a new reg issued for tha above (as i wish to sell it's personal reg) a 35th Anniversary Kuro black 350Z. How embarassing was that list - Can anyone beat it? Cheers (I now feel slightly violated) Andy.

Hi everyone, I have just bought my first 350z (second hand 35th Anniversary GT4 - no.28/176). Unfortunately I am awaiting a retention cert and a new reg to be issued for my traded Type R to come back from the DVLA before I can collect it I think the previous owner may be a member!! Cheers, Andy.
