  1. I'm having to look for similar options - Boothy813 what did you end up going for? How is it working for you? The car was ok on the drive during the sunny spell, but todays rain makes me think a cover is necessary! Others - I've seen recommendations to properly "prepare" a car with cleaning and waxing to protect the bodywork - would this be sufficient to protect without the cover? What does a cover do over and above this? I heard most breathable covers let moisture in anyway so the car will need cleaning regardless?
  2. Hi, I need to finally replace my 370z fronts. I have Bridgestone RE050A's all round at the moment and whilst i want to move to MPSS's, I don't want to mix the tyres. However looking at all tyre supplier websites, there's so many variants of the RE050A's with different pricing options. Has anyone bought any of these, or is able to point me at the ones i should use?? Blackcircles as an example has 4 variants One has reinforced walls and rim protection (XL) One is for infinity cars only? One is for cars (in general??) One I can see is for BMW's (and are run flats) I assume Nissan put the generic car variant on the stock model? Has anyone used the XL variant before given its slightly cheaper? Cheers
  3. Hi all, After many years of wanting a Z I've finally taken the plunge and bought a 2012 370Z A7 GT Edition in Pearl White - and it's amazing! Between the amazing acceleration, the techy gadgets and the quite frankly beautiful looks, I'm in car heaven One question though - as a new owner of a performance car such as this, I'm wondering how I should care for it during the winter? It will be garaged away from the elements, but is there anything I should do between the weekends when I'll be using it? E.g. Should I leave the handbrake off? Put something special in the oil/petrol? Do something with the paintwork? Cheers!
  4. Cheers guys, The £750 quote was from Sky Insurance who i'd seen on here, and also been recommended from a friend. Seemed a bit pricey (+£100) compared to Elephant so wondered if the difference in price was justifyable. I'll give Chris Knott and Swiftcover a try... Can i take it that you're pleased with Admiral's cover? They came out about £10 cheaper than elephant. Whats the deal with them and factory options? (like the 19" extras which i rarely see...) are they "covered" and would be replaced if necessary? Thanks!
  5. Does anyone know, I'm looking to buy a 350Z GT UK spec sometime the next couple of months and the best quotes i'm getting are from Bell/Admiral/Elephant (and for me, a 27yr old with 5yrs NCD in Hampshire its about 750pa). Elephant seems the most "established" one of the three, with a modifications policy which seems to cover "optional extras" such as the factory fit NISMO spoilers. Has anyone used them before? Any ideas what the situation with them is in the event of a claim, i.e. do they replace the car to standard spec + factory extras? Or is it just to base spec?
  6. Cheers for the replies and welcomes! Budget wise, looking around i've seen some with the NISMO kits for around 15k, and some without for 13k (<40k miles, GT spec coupe, manual , UK model) - however as you've noted, they can be few and far between. If the cost of a retro fit (and spray) would be around 2k, then it would be ok... I was thinking of a custom respray anyway, so it might be a sensible option to retrofit, any ideas on what a decent full body respray might cost? I'm based in Hampshire if you've got any suggestions. Oh, and just a check, the new Road Tax changes coming in, do pre March 06 350z's fall into the lower category due to age? I seem to remember seeing it stated somewhere that cars in class G registered before march 2006 would not be scaled up to the new higher tax classes? Seems a nice little loophole (although i'd miss out on the revamped 313bhp model... )
  7. Hey, I'm looking at buying a secondhand 350z however I want one with a nismo spoiler on (and side sills... and maybe front spoiler... ), can you guys tell me whats the best option: 1) Only look for secondhand cars with these already fitted? or 2) Look for any model then 'retrofit'? Bearing in mind I'm not technically confident enough to fit a rear spoiler/sills myself, option 2 would kind of be bound by finding an appropriate supplier and also fitter... If this is best, any suggestions? Cheers,
