  1. Thank's all for the info.

I was only likely to be using it as a second car, maybe 3000 miles a year.

Reading the posts and costs involved I'm not sure whether I should go for something else now. It would just be something for me to take out and enjoy now and then.

    I have a daily.

I can stretch more than 40k if necessary.

Can I ask if it would appreciate over time which might counter the servicing etc costs?

    Thanks

  2. Evening,

    Looking for a decent GTR,

Can anyone advise on values at the moment please?

Should I wait until they get this chip shortage sorted out? Prices of all used cars are ridiculous atm.

Are the GTR's only going up atm?

Seems a lot for a 2009 car but heh always wanted one. Now is the time. Cash purchase. Thanks in advance

Yes, easy to fit replacement but there is a knack to getting the old one off without damaging it.

Let me know if you require a replacement and I will check what I have in the shop.

Sold 2 today so not sure what I have left.

  4. Hi everyone,

Can anyone help please? I'm looking for a passenger side window weather trim. It's the back metal bit.

Its not the rubber seal its the one on the outside that goes between the window and the door.

It has come away near where the door handle is and I have a leak.

Would post a pic but not at home.

    Thanks!

Get the garage to replace the plugs and ask them to check how clean they are/ any oil leakages, we at work have test lights so we can check whether the pencil coils are working properly

OK thanks will do. I'll report back.

A little bit of oil on top of the cam cover might be just from where the mechanic spilled some oil, might need to look further to see if it’s been leaking? Are you fairly handy? air so might be worth taking some of the coils off the n/s that’s where my cam cover gasket was leaking oil into the tubes, did they Change the spark plugs on that service?

Thanks for replying. No I'm not handy whatsoever. Pretty sure the spark plugs are due this time round.

I normally only do 5000 miles but this year I've done around 13000.

You’d be surprised with the hole in the flexi but yes probably won’t cause your symptoms, when did you last have it fully serviced? is the cam cover leaking oil? potentially could be the pencil coils a few might be gone

Was serviced 13 months ago but I noticed today for the first time a little oil on the cam cover.

  8. Hi all,

    I have a 350z GT4 which I have had for 9 years. Never skipped a beat.

I have had a look through the forum but just wanted to confirm the issue.

The car on idle is nearly stalling and sounds pretty rough,

Occasionally I will try to pull off in 1st and it struggles as though something is blocked?

I need the air con on full otherwise it near enough stalls.

    Check engine light is intermittent.

I got someone to read the codes and it states:

'System too lean bank 1 and 2' and 'Random/multiple cylinder misfire detected'.

I do have a small hole in one of the flexi on the Y pipe but i'm pretty sure this would not cause an issue like this?

I'm in Bournemouth so any recommendations or help would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Not enough miles to worry to much.

Look for paint condition, tyres, wheel scuffs and haggle hard as these cars are not PC at the moment so wade in for a deal.

Yes thanks Andy I've got a test drive etc Wednesday so yes the deal has to be right.

I know at a guess what they will have paid for it, its February with gale force winds and not exactly car selling season.

I intend to go in fairly hard.

Thanks for the advice its appreciated.

I can vouch for this garage as a school friend of mine is a salesman there and my mum bought her Astra from them a few years ago. After sales service is very good.

Yes it's overpriced but go in for haggle.

Thanks Andy. The car is one owner from Bournemouth. Checked the MOT history nothing on it really. 3k miles a year.

Looks good but was wet. Anything I should check has been done recently? clicky axle etc?

    Cheers

Slightly more than the £22k I have to spend...Fancy the 5.0 obviously but sensible is not in my nature....Not sure if I could get one for less than £25k?

    The geezer down the road has a 5.0 2017 I think...In ORANGE...Nice motor...

  12. I've had my GT4 for near on 8 years now. Never let me down and I mean ever...Just the usual maintenance...

Anyway I'm 47 now and for my 48th birthday in December I thought I would get something more mature...

    How about this?

Or does anybody have a Mustang here that can help me out? Advice, maintenance costs etc...

Or maybe advise something else? £22k is my limit really...

    Cheers

Nice! nearly bought one of the 76 yellow ones but got let down...Had to settle for a black GT4 8 years ago..

Any chance you could PM me the price you paid and mileage etc as I'm going to be selling mine soon and not sure whether the GT4 will command a premium over the GT?

I know its a bit cheeky but would appreciate it.

    Cheers

  14. Evening everyone,

I've got my MOT due next month and looking for a couple of bits if possible please?

I have a blow on the front y-pipe exhaust on my 2005 GT4.

Also I was looking for a 'rear chassis strengthening bar' (states corroded on last mot)

    Cheers

P.s. Im in Bournemouth if that helps..

  15. Hi All,

Sorry everyone but I've read the guide and I understand its the T20 bulb or 7440 for a 2005 GT4 reverse bulb?

I've looked everywhere and there all led bulbs at about £20.

Do I need an led bulb ?

Can anyone give me any advice or a link to the correct bulb please?

    Cheers in advance,

    Chris

  16. If your car has a recent coat of wax/sealant and you find yourself having to park under a tree in the summer on the odd occasion.......fear not.....no need for a full on assault.

If you wash it quite soon after ie not 2 months like my uncle  you can often get it off just with a nice warm shampoo

    Cheers Headphones :)

As i say I took it to the local Romamian car wash but the paintwork is rubbish after cleaning. They didn't look to cheerful when I drove in lol..A friend of mine knows them well and there was no way it was coming off..I even got my own cloth and 'shampoo' from them and attempted myself. It definitely was not coming off..

I've been here loads of times before and I know I should wash it myself but normally I go there and get a semi decent result...

And no my car does not have a recent wax/sealant unfortunately...

In the meantime I've parked it down the road.

Looks like I need a full on assault? :)
