  2. Hi guys,

I am on the look out for a 350z, the only thing holding me back is the thought of high running costs! I currently drive a Honda civic type R (EP3) i have looked at insurance and its not much different to what im paying now, i get around 20mpg on average town driving at the moment, i also get through around a lt of oil every 2k miles.

Has anyone had a civic type R before and moved to a 350z? if so what are the running costs like? Being a 3.5lt is it more expensive on fuel? Average service costs? How reliable are they?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

    Many Thanks

    Euphoria

There's a few of us on here that have moved from the EP3 and to be honest there is not much difference, the insurance is about the same as is the servicing the only difference is the fuel costs, it costs about £20-£25 more to fill the Z up but you will get an extra 100 miles more than in the EP3. I drive 50 miles a day to work and back and have been averaging 20.8mpg but some of that journey is on a dual carridge way.

  3. Very nice pics bud, the car and the rays look great. Its a shame that the other rays werent present but its getting better :yahoo:

By the time I had got home the blue sky was back  Thanks for the nice comments its pretty standard at the moment but I work only 2 miles from Envy South so I can't see it staying that way

  4. I woke up this morning and the sun was shining with blue sky  and I thought I know I will drive to Epsom Downs and take some pictures. Half an hour later I am at the downs and the sky’s now the same colour as the car  I have had the car 3 weeks and purchased a set of rays which were refurbed last week B) Oh well here they are anyway.

  5. I'm looking to get the Scorpion soon so thanks for putting all the pics up, what is the black bracket for? Would it be missed if removed.

Its just a cover bud and will do no harm if removed

Thanks for that so without the bracket it would be a straight forward fit?

  6. I have called Bishops Nissan Guilford (close to my work) and not only is the P1 £50 cheaper they said it was fine to use my oil. Wilson's are a multi franchise dealer so mabe this has somthing to do with it. As was mentioned earlier in the thread it's amazing that in these hard times they can turn away an easy £200 just to save a few ££ :bangin:

  7. Which dealer? I belive Ancasters in Croydon will let you supply oil as would Wilsons in Epsom, but I dont like them that much to recommend them!! Nothing wrong with servicing, I just had an issue just after I bought the car with the window motor!

It was Wilsons that said no, I'm not their biggest fan but as they are my most local and the fact it was only a P1 I thought I would give them a try.

  8. Had a P1 yesterday with Nissan Basingstoke, no problems with them using my own oil and filter (used Mobil Synth from Opie), £171 for service. Could have saved a bit more if I'd told them to leave the screen wash alone! Doh, live and learn.

And they replaced my corroding wiper arms under warranty, which I was half expecting a battle over.

Try a different dealer, and mention the owners club so they may be more accommodating to avoid bad press on here.

The strange thing was I mentioned that I was supplying my own oil before I asked the price, then when I said the price was steep compared to what other people had mentioned on the owners club but I guess it will be around £200 with my oil he suddenly got funny and said it was a new policy that they can't use owners oil.

  9. I phoned up my local dealer today to book my car in for a P1 service and after quoting me £251 I mentioned that this price was a bit steep and advised that I would be supplying my own oil, they then refused to do the service as it was now Nissan's policy that they can only use their oil.

    Has anyone else had this?

What sort of price should a P1 be?

I live in surrey by the way as I know the price can depend on where you live

Ring TGM Sports in Fleet. You'll get a pleasant surprise.

I was thinking about going to them, I just like to have the Nissan stamp in the book  You would think in the current climate they would break your arms off to service your car! TGM's it is then
