  1. Hi guys, does anyone have a battery cover going spare? I've just noticed that mine is broken, and the only new ones I can find for sale (other than at the dealers) are the carbon ones, and I don't want to fork out a great deal on styling just yet... At least until a few months after servicing, replacing brake pads, etc...

    Cheers

    Nige

  2. i just spend to long on here,

someone else would have posted up that answer for me when i asked it months ago, i've remembered, and then shared the information.

I guess everyone was a newbie once... Got my first service coming along as a zed owner early November, and going to do it myself (under a Mechanic in the family's supervision). Bricking it!! :scare: I've changed pads before, but thats about the limit so far...

Will deffo be taking a few ics though while its up on the ramp...

  3. odour is an easy one, if the aircon is used on re circulation it gets a build up of mildew and other bacteria etc, go to halfrauds and get a can or air con cleaner. its like a gas grenade you let it off in the ca rwith the windows up and the aircon on and it should kill off the nasty stuff, i've done one can and its pretty much perfect, although you might need to do it a second time about a month later just to finish the job.

my advice would also be to make sure it takes air from outside, and not to use the re circulation setting

Cheers Biscuit, will give it a go, can't hurt!

  4. There's no cabin filters in a zed

I was starting to suspect that...

There are no stupid questions, just stupid people...

So if I've got a slight odour in the cabin when the air conditioning is not switched on, any ideas that may be?

    That could be wind ;)

I suppose it is more noticable after a night on the ales... :drunk:

  5. Hey, I will probably be putting the zed in for a joint P3 and MOT in November and need some advice on which parts to choose.

My car is 4 years old with 26000 miles on the clock

    R

I'm in a similar situation, 4 year old zed with 24,000 on the clock... I'm changing the oil, oil filter, brake pads, but was also considering changing some of the filters. I was going to change the air filter for a K&N one, and was looking into the cabin air filter, but I couldn't find a replacement listed anywhere. Are these usually lifed, do you have to clean them out, or can you buy replacements anywhere?

Any ideas guys? also is there anything else that should be changed?

    Cheers folks...

  6. have you got the instruction booklet for the adapter? If you need I'll scan it in tomorrow and post it tomorrow night. I just bought mine last week and it paired up straight away... although the control unit was a german one, so had to replace that... Know anyone who wants a German language control unit?

  7. Hi guys, I've just got my bluetooth adapter off fleabay, fitted it, it seems to work ok... except that when I try to use the voice dialing, it speaks to me in German! I've got the standard OEM Bose head unit, cradle, and adapter. Also, when I push and hold the voice command button, I get straight through to the talking clock... which I didn't think I had on speed dial... I'm pretty sure that the language thing is either something to do with the radio set up, though I can't find anything in the manual. When you push the PTY button and turn it on, it lets you select english language, but that doesn't seem to make a difference. The voice commands may be a incompatibility with the phone... I have a sony Ericsson c902 or osomething like that...

    Any ideas? :bang::surrender:

  8. Hi all, I thought it was about time I said hello...

I bought my '04 Azure Blue Zed GT pack just over 5 months ago, and not stopped smiling since. I signed up to this great forum just before buying, and this was a help in deciding between the Zed and the RX8 (plus driving a Zed owned by a friend).

I'm coming up for a service in November (about 24K), and was intending on replacing front and rear pads, particularly after spotting some of the posts showing deterioration of the OEM pads within the technical forums. I was also intending to replace the spark plugs...

Thanks for sharing all your pointers, they're coming in handy in aquiring the kit in preparation! My only two questions would be, are there any recommendations for anything else that should be changed around this time? Generally, would you recommend OEM or aftermarket for normal road use (plus a rare track day now and again)?

    Cheers Folks!
