Hi, my brother-in-law recently made the change to a 370z after owning a 350z for a few years, but is missing the aural experience the Z gave. We had a listen to a good range on Utube and he's pretty keen on the Akra and Stillen ...so anyone in the North East with either exhaust fitted that would be willing to meet so that he can get a feel for what they are really like? Any advice on what he should be looking at if not one of the above exhausts? Berk cat's are also a possibility, I had cat's and a nismo on my 350z and it was awesome. Protegimus

The simple answer is that Luke sent a bank transfer payment before the deal was agreed; that is before I confirmed that I agreed to sell them to him. At that point we had agreed in principle on a price (£825). I have Luke's bank details and will refund his money in full by bank transfer as soon as the transaction details show on my account. I have spoken to my bank this morning and there is a payment received, as yet with no reference. I have negotiated a suitable deal with another forum member. Before you all get carried away with yourselves about treating the place like ebay, etc. the offer accepted is for less than Luke offered - as I clearly explained to all interested parties, convenience and organisation is also important due to the short time available to complete the deal. These wheels are a bargain and make no mistake it is me that is doing the potential purchaser a favour by offering them at a good price - not the other way round. SSV dyno results comparison: results from another VQ35DE on the same dyno While not comparing absolute results (runs were on different days and it was +10c hotter on the day of my runs), both the torque curve and HP, especially top end ~6200 onwards, show significant improvements. Both cars have similar mods, intake, SSV/spacer, exhaust and other results also show the same trend. Above are results from a 2006 Revup engine showing how close the VQ35DE is in terms of HP, while maintaining its superior torque curve. For anyone interested in F/I, SSV results on a boosted Z can be seen here. Protegimus

KinetiX SSV Polished Stainless Steel Manifold Perfect condition, complete upper & lower plenum replacement kit including instructions and 5mm allen key - deposit taken This is the SSV, suitable for N/A and also F/I upto ~15PSI. Above this boost level you will need the current SSV Extreme Velocity version, which will set you back $749.00, plus tax, shipping, import duty, VAT and handling fee... From KinetiX original information, the SSV has matched length intake runners with velocity stacks and the higher volume plenum chamber design equalises air flow between cylinders. Supplied fitting instructions are text only, a useful guide with images is here . Fitting is straightforward as long as you take your time, it took me around 2hrs. In my experience the SSV offers a good performance uplift, especially noticeable in the upper rev range where the stock intake runs out of breath and where the ever popular spacer doesn't help. There is also an impressively flat torque curve (dyno results will follow due to three image limit, but they are already posted elsewhere on the forum). To realise the full potential, I'd definitely recommend an UpRev tune (though again from experience I'd recommend the UpRev for all Z's!) and performance panel filter - I've used both the nismo and HKS filters. In addition to the pure performance improvement, there is also a good weight reduction from the top of the engine, in the order of 11lbs. You also get the looks and the sounds. Protegimus

JIC Magic stainless steel Y-pipe - 140.00 shipped within UK ($368 plus tax, shipping and duty new...) The JIC is of excellent quality, with a very smooth transition from the two 2.5" pipes into the 3" collector. It gives noticeable torque improvement lower down and lets the V6 rev more freely than the restrictive stock pipe. It also provides distinctively more bass when you open the taps... the right hand flex joint is sound and has a strong spring to protect the pipe, the stainless braid has been worn by the lip on the exit of my drive. Note: this does not affect the function of the Y-pipe in any way - it is purely cosmetic damage! all 3/8" stainless steel flanges are in very good condition and the welds are of excellent quality Protegimus
