Hi mike the adaptor is correctly docked but no led light how do i go about checking power to the unit

Hi All, I have just purchased a nissan bluetooth adaptor for my phone cradle and it fails to power. How do i go about checking the operation of the cradle ( Fuse's Etc ) as i would like to do this prior to taking the adaptor back.........cheers
