  1. Here's my fuelly.com stats for the 350z: Zebedee http://www.fuelly.com/car/nissan/350z/2006/antony/14598 Didn't start recording until about a year after getting him, so I'd guess closer to a total of £30K in petrol total !!!!!!!!
  2. Slowing getting used to the M240i, I'm finding the ride starts to feel very jigglely (technical term) after a longer drive in it though. Wondering about softer walled tyres for it. Still missing the sound and looks of my Zebedee though :-(
  3. If I had a place to store a car off the road, I'd totally keeping it. But living in a modern housing estate on the south coast and having to have a daily driver that just works every day without worrying what it's going to cost me this month, means I have to move on.
  4. I'm very much looking forward to collect F22 M240i tomorrow but my OH is very much a BMW(all German brands) hater. To be fair to her, I find when I'm driving her KA that it's always BMWs/Audis cutting me up. Just hoping Nissan will bring out a new Z in the not too distant future.
  5. If it is just the sensor, that's £200 + fitting but I'm fairly sure I have other issues what with the petrol fumes and engine hesitations :-( I've already dropped £2k on parts and getting the AC fix just in the last 6 months. After 150k miles the handling is not what is should be, full bush set & shocks required I assume. Door seals are starting to go too. At some point I have to cut my losses as much as I love the car. What makes it worse is that the only thing that comes even close is an f'ing BMW... I going to become one of those people, hangs head in shame.
  6. Well this might be a very sad day, talking to a dealer to PX my beloved Zebedee :-( They've offered £2750 without the MOT or £500 more if I got a passing MOT first. Actually doesn't seem that bad to me for a 150k mile car. Head is saying time to move on, heart is sobbing loudly. Regrettably Antony
  7. They said they tried everything they could to try and get it to pass. They are my local small independent garage so no reason to think they wouldn't have done that. I've used them to do simple jobs for a while and to service my OH cars but I take it elsewhere for more complicated stuff like AC repairs as I don't get the impression they have skill for that sort of deep investigations
  8. Hi, My daily driver 350z (my06) is failing to pass the MOT emission test and I'm not really sure where to start in getting it fixed. First place seems to be the O2 sensors as I've been getting engine warning light from both sides: bank1 Sensor1 - P2A00 bank2 Sensor2 - P0157 I had Cobra HFC fitted 18 months ago to replace originals as they had started blowing at 135k miles (now at 150k miles). It passed the last MOT just fine but soon after, 11 months ago, the engine warning light came on. On a recent post here, I read that there is a vent/vapor pipe from the fuel tank back to the engine in-take and that can effect the emissions if split. That's very interesting to me as I've been getting petrol fumes coming in through wound-down windows on long drives that I've not been able to track down. I'm based in Southampton and am really struggling to find a mechanic near here that actually knows about Zeds. Any help would be gratefully taken at this point. Need my 350z just to work as it's my daily driver. Thanks Antony
  9. Sorted thanks to ZMANALEX. This is a pic of my cracked front alloy: Is this something other people have had happen? There is no other damage to the alloy other than a bit of paint flaking off :-(
  10. Great - yes I should have looked there first, Thanks for letting me know about them, looks like they already have some interest. Hoping I can find some a little nearer or will arrange shipping for me.
  11. Hi, Just found out I have a cracked alloy on my MY06 350z and need to get it sorted ASAP. I'm in Southampton area and would be grateful if anyone can point me at/source a replacement. I'll even consider buy a full set of 4 v.good/new if they aren't too expensive. Thanks, Antony
  12. Got my reconditioned boot poppers back yesterday, refitted and working great. Now I just need to remember that I don't need to press the button twice any more ;-) Thanks again for offering this service and the quick turn around. Antony
  13. I've squeezed in over 75 litres once or twice. If I get less than 70 litres in at a fill up I feel like a chicken for not pushing it for a few more days. My daily drive is about 30miles, so once the dte is showing about 20miles to go, i.e. just before it goes to ----, I know I need to fill up in the next day or so. Antony
  14. Yo, Well I've had my 350Z GT my06 for over a year now and I've been using this great forum for finding lots of v.useful info. So I thought it was about time I de-lurked and said hello. Zebedee has just had her 3rd service, a P1 after just rolling over 26K miles. She'd only done 11K when I got her this time last year :-) She's standard apart from swapping out the Bose headunit for something a bit more up-to-date... you know something that doesn't have a tape desk, I mean wtf is that all about... I had a red 200SX before which I'd personally done over 100K in before a failed spark plug screwed up a valve @140k on the clock. Wasn't worth me fixing (I'm not a mechanic) but got over 900quid for it on ebay :-) Note to self: don't forget to change the spark plugs! I'll be needing some new front discs and f/r pads in the next 5k or so and just about to replace the rear tyres again. It was on the originals when I got her at which point I had to change the rears to make it legal again :-) What do people think, is 15k out of Falken 452's about normal? Most of my driving is cruising around and not ragging it. Hi to Rob_Quads if he reads this, we work at the same place and I often see him posting on the forums. Antony
