1. I took the left rear light out, this gives you access, the bumper has a Polystyrene lining which is a bit awkward to feed the wires past but there's a big rubber grommet which give easy access to the boot then you can feed the wires into the glove box and down the centre console.
2. I've not got any pics but it really easy to do, i mounted mine there and it works a treat! Be carefull though when you buy a camera, i found that most of them were too deep to fit here. Pop the cover out first and measure the depth i think the one i used was about 48mm deep.
3. Cheers Rob, Definitely going to add the camera to my 4100 then, does it just turn on when you select reverse? I am interested in this camera: http://shop.reversingcamerasuk.com/epages/es106294.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/es106294_shop/Products/CAM086 But the bloke from the shop says Pioneers can be a bit of a nightmare due to the wire that's connected to the handbrake. But if yours is working OK i presume my 4100 will work OK too. Shame about your steering controls, I have the ICT 29-274 wiring loom and mine are working really well. (Just in case you decide you do want them). Cheers Steve
4. Hello, I have the Pioneer AVH-4100DVD fitted to my Z, can't answer the question on the sat nav as i don't have it but my steering wheel controls are now working perfectly, there was a problem with loom but incartec who make the ICT loom fixed this for me, there was a bug in their software. All you can do is try a loom and if it doesn't work contact them, they corrected mine free of charge. Or better still order one from directly and tell them which head unit it will be uesd on but you can definitely get the remote working. Not sure about the camera either but i though i read somewhere that you needed to use the Pioneer ND-BC2 but keep this post updated cause i'd like to add one to mine.
5. Hello, You definitely don't need to connect the number 2 plug, the only time you need this is if you want to retain the steering wheel remote controls, you then have to splice into three of the cables, the plug itself just needs taping up and storing out the way. As long as you have connected the blue and white cable the amp should work, I soldered mine to the dark blue cable in the loom (see Pic, you can also see the plug taped up here). Obviously you have installed the new earth cable or I don't think the head unit would fire up? Even dafter question! Have you connected the 4 phono leads? Failing that I would check a wiring diagram for the amp, there is a fuse that could have blown, (not sure where it is though, could be an inline one or part of the amp itself).
6. My iPhone had no problem connecting at all with the 4100DVD. Have you registered the phone and set it to auto connect in the headunit menu?
7. I had the new iPhone 3Gs for a week and it connected ok to the headunit and remembered the connection but Apple will not allow any file transfer via bluetooth so you can't send the contact list to the headunit. Hence the reason why it went back to 02! Brilliant iPod, useless phone (IMO)!
8. Yeah, my bluetooth connects perfectly everytime and the phonebook transfer worked too on my Samsung G600.
9. Yes, this model has a 7 inch screen which is brill: It can be altered to fit all of the display
10. After six weeks of head scratching, swearing and driving around with a third of the dash missing, I have finally got my Pioneer AHV-P4100DVD head unit up and running. My main problem was that that the steering wheel controls would not work: http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=22923 After sending my 29-674 harness and head unit back to IncarTec twice, it turned out that there was a problem with the printed circuit board and a bug in their software, this was eventually corrected and the steering controls now perform really well, in fact they perform far more functions than I ever thought possible. I would urge anyone who is struggling to get their steering controls working to give IncarTec a call as there may be more faulty harnesses out there! The head unit is excellent, the sound is brilliant (IMO) even with the standard Bose speakers and amp, the display colour can be altered to match all the other lights in the car perfectly. Whilst I was at it I also added an Ipod cable, Bluetooth adapter and fitted My Navman S100 into the cubby box. Heres a few pics and thanks everyone for all your help. 11. Hello, I have a Pioneer headunit and on the wiring loom there is a yellow and black wire which says 'mute' on it. I am installing my Navman s100 sat nav in the cubby and would like to know if I could link up to this wire so that the headunit is muted when the sat nav gives directions etc? The power adapter on the sat nav is a mini usb so i was wondering if something like this would work:? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Duragadget-earphone-Polaris100-Excalibur-Advantage/dp/B001RTM6KA/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1245191555&sr=1-7 Regards Steve
12. Could anyone tell me the exact size of the Panda 8080 screen, i'm looking into fitting one inside my 2007 cubby?
13. Hello, Been in touch with JDM about the cubby box they sell, they have informed me that this is the mk1 version whereas my car is a 2007 57 plate (mk2 i presume). Does anyone know if i could purchase the mk1 version and unscrew the cubby box from the fascia and swapl it for the cubby in my mk2 dash? From what i have read i would also need to swap over the lid because the material is slightly different. I'd like to do this because i like the idea of the sat nav being hidden away when not in use, but would like confirmation before forking out £85!
14. Hello I am upgrading the stereo in my 350z and wondered if the standard bluetooth adapter can be removed completely, ie by disconecting the white plastic clip under the cubby box? or does it perform other functions that are still required when removing the factory radio? If i could remove it then this would give me loads of room for my ipod and Pioneer bluetooth adapter.
15. Thanks, just found this: http://www.jdmperformance.co.uk/item_detail.php?prodID=57881 Does anyone know if this type will fit a 2007 car, this is the mk1 type?
16. Oh, forgot to mention i would like the sat Nav version.
17. Hello, Where could i buy a new cubby box from and how much would it cost? I have a 2007 (57 Plate) 350z
18. Hello, I tried this at the weekend and it didn't work, the sound would play but no picture, apparently Pioneer have caught on to this and have altered the setup on the newer models, you have to throw a switch for it to work. Anyway, I located the handbrake wire after unscrewing 4 screws on the centre console, you can then lift the console high enough to disconnect the power lead from the handbrake and work with it from the outside. Because the handbrake has about 7 clicks if i need to use the unit whilst driving (which i shouldn't) then you can engage the handbrake on the 1st click, the light comes on and the unit will work but the handbrake isn't actually doing anything at this point!
19. Hello, I am fitting a Pioneer AVH-P4100DVD and need to locate the wire to connect the handbrake wire from the headunit to. I'm not too bothered about bypassing this feature but just wondered what cable i need to locate ie colour and the easiest place to locate it. Also does anyone know if the centre console can be removed easily?
20. Hello, Just spoke to a helpful bloke at InCarTec and he seems to think that Pioneer may have changed the wired remote input configuration on the new models, i have sent him my harness to be modified and tested. I'll update when i receive it back to let you know the solution.
21. I think the blue wire is something to do with voltage. Older headunits run at 5v and newer ones run at 3v.
22. Yes with my old FH-P80BT the wiring was just the same and it worked perfectly, it's when i've fitted the new AVH-P4100DVD it won't work, if tried adding another wire like the 29-008 cable but still having problems. Begining to resign myself to the fact that the ITC adapter and harness are not compatable with the latest Pioneer models. So fustraiting when you've forked out all that money!!
23. My controls are working, there just not all doing the correct function. Think i'll try and ring InCarTec who make the harnesses, i'm sure it's something stupid like a wire the wrong way round.
24. Hello, Has anyone fitted one of the new 2009 Pioneer headunits to their 350z? I am fitting a AVH-P4100DVD and have a problem with the steering remote. I am using the ICT 29-674 lead and have tried both the 29-007 and 29-008 adaptor leads but cannot get the steering wheel switches to work correctly, with the 29-008 lead the volume works correctly but the seek up switches down and the seek down increases the volume! I had an older Pioneer unit fitted before so i know the loom is working correctly. I am wondering if I need a different adaptor for this unit. Any suggestions??
25. Hello, Do you have to buy a new cubby box to do this? If so how much are they and where do i get one? My car has no sat nav at the moment. Cheers
