  1. I see this is an old post but, just out of chance, is the reflector still available?
  2. Alezan seats in my black Z look great, so much better than dull black would.
  3. I have to line up the car then get out and push it into the garage as there is no way to open a door. Likewise I have to roll it out of the garage. I've attached a wooden plank to the garage floor that stops the car hitting the rear wall and the front wheels get chocked so it does not move without the hand brake on. I fitted an CTEK extension cable to the battery so that I can easily plug in the charger through the front grill. It's become routine now and not really a problem.
  4. CTEK every time. I replaced my original CTEK with another last year after I accidentally ran over the first one. Despite being squashed it turned out that it still worked, it was only a break in the cable that was the problem.
  5. Sounds like you will be approaching Stelvio from the north. In my oppinion this is the best way as the view is not so good on that side of the pass if you were heading in the opposite direction. Concentrate, look out for cyclist and worst of all, be aware of slow BMW motor bikes. Catch your breath at the top, take some pics, then blast down the south side, it is great fun. According to your route you will be heading to Venice next. It is best to drop down to Lago di Garda, take another break and some pics, then blast long the motorway. Naturally you can't enter into venice, there are no roads, but you can find parking near the rail station and then walk or take one of the boats, it is well worth it. The route back to Milan is quite boring if you go the fastest way so you may want to break your route, perhaps drop down to Parma for some cheese and ham before goinf on to Milan. Milan is not all it is cracked up to be but is a nice day trip. Piazza del Duomo is a must see and all of the main sights can be seen by walking as the city centre is very small. I live near to Duomo so if you need any advice let me know. Sadly my Z is not here but I hope to bring it over some time. Ciao e buon viaggio, Lee.
  6. Thanks all. So I'll keep my UK lights for when I'm in the UK possible buy some replacement lights from the USA for European driving. I get the impression they are cheaper from the USA. Looking at the workshop manual it does not seem too difficult to change them over.
  7. What was the alternative and would importing lights from the USA work as they drive on the wrong side as well. I'm interested as I may take my Z to Italy for a year or so and I'll need to change the lights. Ta.
  8. When I bought my car in 2009 I found some discussion threads saying that the disk could get scratched in the reader and eventually stop working. the recomendation at the time was to copy the disk, save the original and use the copy. You need a DVD+RW DL drive but any Data Copy software works. The DVD is used for high capacity storage and is not encrypted like a movie. I made a copy which works fine. The original is stored safely. If anyone gets updated maps from one of the various cheap websites I'd be interested to know if they work OK as I'm thinking of taking my car down to Italy for a while. Hope this helps, Lee.
  9. I've not been to one of the club events as I'm rarely in the UK (currently spending most of the time in italy). Do people normally go for the three days or just one of the days. My 09 350Z could do with a run and I thought I could day trip from Surrey on the Saturday. Can you let me know what the normal course of the weekend is. Thanks a lot, Lee.
  10. Here are a few snaps I took at the event. I only saw one other 350Z but there was a fantastic 240Z that stole the show.
  11. I've nothing planned that evening so I'll aim to be there. Cheers, Lee Black 08 GT Coupe
  12. I can make it so I'll come along. Need to leave shortly after lunch unfortunately. Cheers, Lee. Black 08 GT Coupe
  13. Thanks everyone, very helpful. Cheers, Lee.
  14. I drove my new 350Z in the dark for the first time last night and noticed that not all the driver's side door switches are illuminated. The two window switches are and one of the two switches ahead of them is illuminated (outer one), the other is not and neither are any of the wing mirror controls. Is this correct or do I have a problem for Mr Nissan to fix? Thanks. Ibisu Black GT, Alezan, 300 miles of running in, 900 to go.
