  1. If you have disconnected your battery recently you will no doubt have had this happen to you. Its a safety feature to prevent smashing the glass against the frame in the case of battery failure. The window will drop down on opening but it wont go back up on closing. If you repeatedly open and close the door the window will get lower and lower. If this is happening to you then all you need is a window reset as mentioned above.

If the window is not dropping at all when you open the door this likely means its another issue entirely and not linked to the safety feature mentioned. I would first try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes, then reconnect and immediately perform the window reset procedure. This may get you back up and running but if not its likely a motor or sensor playing up.

  2. I love the Cybox exhaust. Best sound improvement for the money. Even a muffler delete would cost about as much as this exhaust.

Cold start - very loud and deep note, just what you want

Slow driving at lowish revs you get a nice deep note thats not intrusive, also dropping down a gear with SynchroRev turned on sounds amazing. I do most of my driving like Miss Daisy now since I dont need to boot it to hear it.

At mid revs with a heavy foot it can be a bit too loud but if you dont need loud at the time you just ease off or change gear.

If you want to really scream then high revs and a heavy foot will wake up everyone (ive set a car alarm off with mine accidentally).

Cruising at motorway speed it almost sounds stock. Ive heard people complain about drone but there is zero drone from this exhaust if you are just cruising and maintaining speed. It only gets loud on the motorway when you are accelerating.

The best thing about this exhaust is how deep the sound is. And of course the price. I honestly dont see how anyone could have a bad word to say about the Cybox when you consider the difference it makes for the price it costs.

  3. I've just seen this post. I've got mine away at the moment with a company called Headlightretrofits in Dumbarton, should be back next week. Have a look on their website/Facebook page, I can let you know what mine are like when I get them back if you are still interested

    Dave

Awesome mate. Id be interested to hear what you think of them when you get them back. If they are good then they may have another customer straight away.

  4. If the hob you purchased was damaged in transit and you have only just noticed, the only thing you have done wrong is to not check straight away. As far as the item goes you were sold and sent a faulty item. So in legal terms you are considered to be in the wrong for not checking sooner but at the end of the day you were still sold a faulty item.

In this scenario I would definitely go and buy a new one and then use the new receipt to take the broken one back. Call it fraud all you like but if you know for certain that you did not break the hob and it was delivered to you in that condition then I would not be going out of pocket over a timing issue.

  5. I went down the same route you are planning when I had my 350. Like you I wanted the nav to be a separate unit from the stereo so I bought a Kenwood 7" touch screen to go in the cubby and the Kenwood KNA520 Nav unit which is powered by Garmin. The touch screen connects to a video box which I put underneath the false floor in the box behind the passenger seat. Then the Kenwood Sat Nav unit sits next to the video box and connects to that.

IIRC it cost me around £600 just for the screen and the Nav unit but you can probably get both of those things much cheaper now days.

  6. OMG!

    Bundus!!! When did you return?

    Ha ha

Hey BM how you doing mate? I was on sabatical for a long time when I had to sell the 350 (mortgage and my new daughter saw to that!) I was lucky to be able to get back in a 370 at the end of last year so I am officially back!

I now need to update my pic and sig with the new motor!

  7. Bundus. Did you just put the underlay between the boot carpet and resess for the Bose sub?

I agree with you on being able to drive slower and enjoy the noise. I found myself booting it when it was standard just to get some sound. The downshift noise is brilliant. Probably my favourite part of the sound after the overrun burbles.

I went full on and removed all the boot trim as well as the Bose Sub and anything else that would come out. I then used contact adhesive to glue the underlay down to the boot floor, boot walls and wheel arches etc. After that I just refitted all the plastic trim. It was tough getting the trim back in as it was all very tight but that's why I no longer have any rattles or drones. Well worth it mate.

  8. I have the Cybox short tails on mine too. I love them. You can actually drive slower and still enjoy the car as opposed to having to boot it just to enjoy some sound.

I sound deadened my boot with 12mm thick carpet underlay and it made a big difference. Its not really any quieter inside but there are zero rattles or drones at any rev range now since all the plastic trim is padded from underneath.

Id never go back to standard now, not after enjoying the roar on downshifts with SynchroRev on.

  9. so can someone tell us how they would scam us by asking for our paypal details. Ive had this done to me several times (not giving them my details) but still cant work out how they can swindle you. Senario...i work in offshore, cant see the car but trust you bla bla will pay you what you are asking fot its bla bla bla then Can i have your paypal address???? What good can this be to them other than sending money?? maybe Im just dull here and just cant see what they can do

The problem is that PayPal transfers can be withdrawn. Even if the money is in your account and you have taken it out of the bank the sender can still take it back. So what they do is tell you they will pay double for your car and send you double the cash in PayPal. Once you have the funds in your bank they collect the car and disappear. A short time later they then do a PayPal reversal and take the money back. So you end up with no car and a huge debt to pay back.

  10. Just throwing this one out there. I have black seats in my 370 but since the car is also black it looks a little bland. I was going to go for a re-trim and I almost bought the anniversary red interior from Octet until I had to pull out due to money issues.

Then I started thinking, maybe someone has orange/red/white/whatever interior and they don't like it - perhaps you prefer something a bit more subtle like a beautifully maintained black set? Maybe you are selling your car and think it would be an easier sell with black interior?

Probably a long shot but let me know if your interested

  11. Also, a good tip is to try and tighten the bolt a small amount to crack the rust and then try backing it off.

^^^ This for sure. When I use the rubber mallet technique I normally knock it once or twice in both directions and that's usually enough to get it free.

  12. I PlastiDipped my fangs just recently. Its not the best finish since I didnt prepare the fangs first. I wanted it to be removable so I didnt want to rub down the original paint. I literally just cleaned the fangs and then PlastiDipped right over the top of all the scratches and stone chips. Im happy with it for the £12 it cost me.

  13. I did my front calipers and pads recently and I agree its not a difficult job at all. It was a little time consuming as it was my first attempt at this job but next time will be a piece of cake.

One little tip for tough bolts that I use is to attach the socket on a medium sized breaker bar then use a rubber mallet to hit the end of the bar (in the right direction of course). Sometimes this "impact" technique is enough to free any rust and move the bolt a few mm and makes it much easier to get off. I did of course coat the bolts in penetrating oil before I started so this definitely helps too.

Also I found that a couple of standard G clamps are perfectly fine for pushing the pistons back into the caliper. So if you dont have a piston reset tool and you are in a pinch something like this works brilliantly....

  14. I have these brand new never fitted bought for my 370z but didnt like the black so getting rid £50 for the pair deliverd. Also these are not painted like some they are actual black plastic so wont stone chip

Those are the exact ones I bought. I went for the ones with the Carbon backing and after import duties ended up costing me nearly £100 - yours are a bargain at £50 mate! Here's how they look on the car (sorry for the thread hijack but it may help the OP with ideas!)
