  1. Just under 31k. Very nice all round, just a couple of scuffs on the alloys that I could see. Sat at 30mph in 5th gear, what should the oil pressure read out be (roughly). If the guage is in PSI, I think it was around 40 i.e. about 1/3 of the full scale. Does that sound right, as it seemed a bit low to me? Lovely part of the world is old Butterton! I've cycled around there many, many times, and have recently looked at houses both there and in Maer. Where abouts are you then bud??
  2. Hi. I recognise that car as i have spotted it a few times in North staffordshire. Yes it had the 296bhp engine at the time which was a 20 bhp increase on the original engine. They did 100 in Kuro and 76 in Ultra yellow. I own a yellow one (no 43). So basically the differences were the engine, wheels and anniversary badges on the wings plus you got a Playstation 2 console and a gt4 game.. Not sure on the value though i would like to think they do hold a bit more value, though in these difficult times its hard to tell. A bit more info here. http://www.350z-tech.com/zwiki/35th_Anniversary_350Z Are you a local to Staffordshire? Thanks for that dude! I'm in Stockport now, but grew up in Newcastle so tied the test drive in with a visit to the folks. Does it look a reasonable price at £14k? All the service history was local to Staffs, so I'm not suprised you've seen it about. Lived in Butterton for a while I believe!
  3. Test drove this one today: http://finance.autoexposure.co.uk/class ... 795_1a.jpg I THINK it was no. 46; not sure if that ties up with your database? As an aside......what a motor. I frickin loved it! I've never thought about a GT4 before. Just wanted a Kuro with Alezan up until now. What's the deal with these. Are they the newer (at the time) 296bhp engine with the different alloys? Is there any other specific unique features? Do they hold their value better/worse than a standard, similar age Z? Where can I find out about them? Are there any links available please?!
  4. It's still there but every time I try to book it, it's not listed for the dates I want it. As an aside.....what a way to drive a Z. I reckon you can do more than 60 quids worth of damage in a day (tyres, depreciations, time to next service etc). I racked up 700+ miles in a day, and did the last 200 miles into Vegas in just over an hour and a half. Great fun!
  5. I hired a Z from Vegas airport from Hertz. It is indeed in their 'Fun' collection. This was 18 months ago, and I've not been able to book one since. Worth a try though! If not, they do have other nice motors in their collection. And the Z was only £60 a day!

  7. Here's a couple for you bud: http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-uk/ww ... x_mileage= http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-uk/ww ... x_mileage=
  8. How much is this matey? Not sure if it's my computer, but I can't see any pics. Have you posted any?
  9. There are some crazy bargains about at the minute; definately a buyers market. Seems well overdone to me, considering petrol prices are dropping back and £400 road tax isn't THAT bad considering the drops in price. Not that it meets any of your criteria, but the one below (assuming it's HPI clear) seems like buy of the year! I was at a Nissan dealership yesterday who had two of these in at £17k. I thought they were cheap until I saw this one! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2006-Nissan-350Z- ... 286.c0.m14
  10. I saw the history....FNSH at the correct intervals. The guy has had his settlement figure so I thought I would just make sure I was there when he paid it off. Not sure if it's as straight forward as that though??
  11. Hello again fellas! After a few weeks away from the search for a zed, the following prompted my interest: http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/728239.htm I wondered if anyone could comment on it, as it seems VERY cheap. The log book doesn't list it as a GT, but it has all the GT spec except for Rays. Did many UK cars come like this? I've been to see it and it seems genuine enough. Drives well with no problems that I can see. The seller says it's got no history issues i.e. damaged/repaired, stolen/recovered etc. There is outstanding finance which he'd settle when I bought it. So, if I get an inspection done on it (AA/RAC) and it comes back clear, is this an absolute bargain. Or am I missing something??? I reckon it's at least a couple of grand cheaper than it's nearest comparable rival. Would that 2 grand cover me against any major things that could go wrong? For example, if the gearbox is sha**ed, is 2 grand a drop in the ocean? Any advice VERY gratefully received!

  13. Oh man....that's a great buy! If I wasn't saving for a stupid house deposit, I'd be driving down now to buy it off you. Rather than typing this (relatively) pointless message! Anyway, good luck with the sale. She looks a beaut!
  14. Good luck with the sale matey....that looks an absolute bargain!
  15. It's up at £12,850 and I'm based in Manchester. A lot of the points I made were questions, rather than problems with the car. I've seen a few now and never noticed the cam chain tensioner noise before which was my main concern. I thought every car might be like that and I'd just not noticed. As for the axle, going off this site I'm guessing £400 for parts and labour on top of that?
  16. Is the cam chain tensioner noise normal??? Thanks for the heads up regarding evo!
  17. Hey all! Just been out in a 53 plate UK 350Z. Seemed pretty good but I wondered if anyone could answer the following questions?? 1. The rear axle suffers from the dreaded click. How do I fix this and how much will it cost me? 2. The last MOT suggested it will need brake pads and possibly discs. I'm pretty sure the disks are OK but if not, what are the costs? How much for the pads (front and rear) and as an estimate, roughly how long should they last? 3. When he started it he warned that the camchain would make a bit of noise for the first few seconds until the oil pressure had built up. Is that right? It did then go quiet and all seemed good. 4. The inside of the tread was more worn than the outside tread. Is that something to do with the zed, or just dodgy tracking? 5. How does the Alezan leather normally fair?? The car had done 29k miles and I was suprised that the seats were slightly more worn than I expected. All documents check out, so I'm confident that the mileage is genuine. 6. It's had a new exhaust at a cost of £800. Is this a problem with zeds and can I expect it to need replacing in another 29k miles? 7. The car had a reasonable amount of stone chips. Nothing too serious, but more than others I've looked at. How many is a reasonable amount? I'd guess this had 20+. They were tiny but again, makes me wonder about the mileage. 8. Oil pressure was 60psi at 2k rpm. It went up and down (down by say 15psi and up by say 30psi) through the rev range. Does this sound normal?? Other than that, I FRICKIN loved it! Cheers for any advice! Steve
  18. Thanks the warm welcome fellas! My car is (hopefully) getting sold on Wednesday, so I'm one step closer!
  19. i'm 27 with the same points and NCB, and i have been quoted £400 fully comp. £530 with my gf (25, 3NCB ). However, i live in the sticks, and if you live in a city that would probably add a lot, especially if its not garaged. Who's that with matey??
  20. Thanks fellas! No 'hidden' costs that I should be accounting for?? Link to the car is: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... :IT&ih=011 (Please don't gazzump me!!!!) I saw it today and it's the tidiest I've seen so far. It's had the clicking rear axle problem sorted. Didn't check the CD player. Should I have looked for anything else?? Does it look a good buy??
  21. I'm not sure that's strictly true.....I have a Skoda VRS which as standard had 130bhp and averaged 51mpg. I had it chipped to 170bhp and now it averages 56mpg. Not Zed related.....just saying! I'm after a Zed at the minute; it's going to be so hard to go from 56mpg to 20. But I'm sure it'll be worth it!
  22. Hey all! I'm new to this forum and I was hoping I can get some advice?? Sorry to make my first post a list of questions! I've wanted a 350 since I first saw one in 2003, and I'm finally close to buying one (hopefully this week!). I wondered if you could answer the following questions before I take the plunge: 1. Firstly, any guides on what I should be paying for one? I'm looking at a 54 plate, UK GT with 39k miles @ £13.5k. This seems about 3 or 4 grand cheaper than when I looked 12 months ago. Have they really dropped that much recently? 2. What costs are involved with ownership? I'm expecting £600 for a set of tyres. How long do they last on average? £100 for a tank of fuel, lasting 350-400 miles? I've been quoted servicing at £245 for a P1, £295 for a P2 and £350 for a P3. Anything else that I should be budgeting for? What other servicing items are there (clutches, brake discs and pads etc) and how often should I expect to replace them? I know all these are like asking 'how long is a piece of string', but are there any average figures? 3. Any recommendations for insurance. I've used confused.com and it's come up with £750 for fully comp for a 29yo with 4 years NCB and 3 points. Sound about right? 4. Any clubs or meetings in the Manchester area? Any answers are VERY gratefully received! Cheers, Steve.
