  1. Hi, I've scratched and dented my driver's door.

Its an orange driver's side door 2004 coupe.

I've never scratched a car in my 20 years of driving and I do it to my Zed - doh!

Let me know how much and where it is.

Obviously I want it without dents & in good condition.

I might consider another colour, because I suppose I could get it sprayed up if it's a good price.

    Cheers

    Steve

  2. I thought I would cheer :D myself up, so I went on the above website.

    I input my car details - I have a stock 350z GT 45,000ish 2004 - purchased a year ago for £15,000

I did not click the options like cruise control, leather heated electric seats as they are standard on my model ( I think that's what they meant ) not "options".

They said, we will buy your car for £8,765*

( oh well back to drilling holes in my eyes - - I didn't want to sell it anyhow )

If anyone with a similar 04 GT model with 45000ish miles and good condition, wants to try this but adding the 'standard' GT kit as 'options' please try it and let me know.

  3. Hmm those windsurfer boards are massive, and heavy - I would not recommend it.

I also managed to get a kite surf board and all the associated equipment ( Kite - board - Pump - wetsuit - kitesurfer ) in my car with no problem - maybe you could learn how to kite surf instead - you get much more air and look like a hero!

    :boat:

( I also bought an old wooden kayak off of eBay - 14 foot long ) I don't think that is going to go on my roof somehow - it fitted on my bug though.

  4. PROBLEM SOLVED!

Here are some pics of my 350z roofrack.

I have been to Brittany from Manchester with two surf boards attached to my roof.

I also went to Croyde in Devon from London with two surf boards on the roof.

I also attach a string to the front towing eye, but suspect it's not needed ?

Look on Ebay for a VacuRack - it's great - each sucker can hold 200lbs of weight ( I think that means how much it can suck )

  5. Hi,

    Has anyone got a 3D model of a 350z?

Something like .3ds or Collada format would be great, but anything would do, I just want to have a play with it.

( I have seen that you can buy them, but I just want to play - maybe make a 3D Flash avatar or something )

    Thanks

    Steve

  6. Hi,

It's a Sigma lens on a Nikon D50 body - the lens is about £320, you can't get them cheaper really ( which I usually find means it's quite good ). It's a big lump of cash to spend on a lens really. I almost wish it was not a Zoom though, and only had the widest angle, that would make any distortion less, and the quality even better. It's pretty good though I think.

Sorry I took so long to reply - I forgot to check the box to subscribe to the post.

I just bought Photomatix software to try out some HDR photography ( Where you under and over expose the same shot and combine those images ( 3 minimum ) to create an image where you don't lose any detail in the highlights or dark areas ). It sounds a bit dull, but can make some fantastic effects - I think of it as "super real."

Thanks for the great comments. ( I was trained as a graphic designer, I have art directed one car shoot in a photographic studio ( Nissan Micra :) ) I try to always have a camera on me - so that if I take enough pictures then at least one of them will come out well :), I think I can spot a dynamic angle for a shot. My dad is a keen photographer, and also my best mate, so I have learned a lot from them ). I am not a Graphic Designer now, I am a Flash Developer.

  7. I did not read all the pages of this thread, but I just found this one.

Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet! I like the idea - the angles yum yum****

I think it would be five star if there was more detail in the grill and invisible front skirt.

  8. OK I just went through the pics on the other thread and chose my 10 favourites giving them a star rating out of 5. I think that most of them are great pics and enjoyed looking at them all. I think everyone should always carry a camera. These are my personal opinions on the ones I think are the best

( don't get too defensive - it's all good - it's just an opinion for a bit of fun ).

By the way feel free to crit my piccy I am gingrrr.

    3 - ****

I think this would be five star if the number plate area was just coloured in in blue ( or something - any ideas ? ) - too distracting.

    6 - *****

Forgot to blur out a section of brick around the spoiler ( do it - it's worth it ) - very nice shot.

    14- ****

Would prefer it to be slightly sharper - more contrast in the whites and slightly bigger in frame.

    16- ****

As the rainman would say - very sparkley - too many distracting reflections. Nicely photographed though - nicely polished.

    19- ****

Great compostion and angle - well debadged good colour balance and interesting reflection of a ship - but not too distracting.

    20- ***

I like clouds - good idea putting the lights on giving the bonnet something to contrast with - sweet angle.

    29- ****

looks pretty good - like a toy car.

    33- ****

Well positioned reflections and colours - I think this might work better even more saturated - I might be wrong.

    36- *****

Love the colour, the juxtaposition, the reflection in the water, I just wish the car was bigger in shot. Sweeeet!

    38- ****

I am a sucker for white sports cars - great juxt - massive exhaust ( where can I get a concrete exhaust that looks like a ciggy? ). I thought there were some riples in the door, but it was just some old demolished warehouses - ( how many nails did you get in your tyres? )

I can't wait to get a copy of the calender - whether my pic is on there or not. Good luck snappers.

    Over and out B)

  9. I saw it in Rusholme, Manchester in white.

It drove past while I was eating a Kebab in Sajan. When I went to the car park, it was there.

When you walk around it, it looks big and brutish and makes you drool.

Those quad exhausts look massive in real life.

The wheels look enormous - everything looks like it's designed for extreme strength.

I was excited for about a... ( I am still excited about it ).

Do you think Nissan will let me test drive one?

I want to know where the 25 year old guy driving it got £50k plus £5k insurance.

( BTW - have you thought of getting the calenders produced at Photobox - I did some work for them for 11 months and the quality is good. I don't mind where you do it though it's just a suggestion. )

  11. That looked great - unfortunately I was dry lining my house :( etc.

I did go to a party around there a week before though and saw a few Zeds on the road. When I got back my car was covered in every kind of animal poo imaginable. The car wash guys at Tesco Altrincham cleaned it off nice though :)

I can also recommend driving from South West Wales ( Rhossli in the Gower ) to North Wales taking in the Brecon Beacons along the way.

  12. Hi all,

I would love to put a full Nismo body kit onto my 350z without lowering it from factory height, but I worry about speed bumps and the height of the front and side skirts.

    What happens?

Do you just have to avoid speed bumps?

( this would be too much inconvenience IMO )

    ( every time I see a Nismo 350z I pass out and wet my pants :) )

  13. I got my new 10-20 sigma lens and decided to take a couple of snaps of my 350z...

I had to retouch out the splattered bugs and undesirable landscape features. ( this is on the seafront at Colwyn Bay )
