  1. Hmmm - now where to find a service manual... Do you think this will have info on removing the plates on the steering wheel?
  2. Anyone know where I can try looking for the plate with button set? And how I get these plates off the wheel in the first place!
  3. Now this is interesting. If it can be removed to return the car to stock, then it could certainly entice many people who want to play, but dont want to lose their warranty. Not that I would condone cheating, or fraudulent warranty claims, but lets be honest - having a mod that can be removed without trace will certainly be attractive to a large section of the market.
  4. Could always invest in some runflats? £££££.. Its certainly a very tidy install, and as others say, plenty of boot space left too. I take it the sound is somewhat improved over the standard set up too..
  5. It does seem strange that they didn't fit them to the roadster. I think its just a smoke and mirrors story about the wind noise to be honest. You can have the stereo on loud driving throug the country, and then drop the volume when you approach a town. So they would be useful. Also with the top up, I actually find the wind noise a lot less intrusive than say on the previous MX-5, so I think they would still be of some use.. All I need to do now is find the parts that I will need....
  6. For some reason that still mesmorises me, the UK Roadster does not come with the telephone/radio volume control buttons on the steering wheel. Does anyone know why? Does anyone know how hard it would be to retro fit these? I cant see it being that difficult, as the stereo is the same. Is the wiring there, just missing the plate/buttons on the wheel - or is there more to it?
  7. I have to say I am very interested in this. I doubt I will ever go the forced induction route, as I've never really modified a car before. I reckon an exhaust, cats, and some sort of chip will probably be my limit performance wise, and it will probably be some time before I am serious about doing any of those either.. I like my warranty! LOL
  8. I can understand though - it is almost like putting your phone number n your profile. Its there for anyone that wants to use it though.
  9. Ooooo - what else do they do for the Z? Having a vested interest being in Chesterfield too....
  10. I was always under the impression that the standard wheels were 225/45 R18 all round. And that the Rays were slightly wider at the rear 245/45 R18. Well I have standard wheels, and checked the back, they are 245/45??? Compared these to the Rays I have in the garage, and it seems the tyres fitted to my standard wheels, are exactly the same size as the ones on the rays.. Am I going loopy, or has someone fitted the wrong size tyres to my standard rims?
  11. Did you just admit that in public - LOL. You have the ability to delete your own posts you know... Ive never owned a mini, but have been part of the social scene some years back when my mate had an original mini and we did the London to Brighton rally. Been a passenger in a new mini cooper - not the "S" version though, have to say from what I saw it stuck to the road like it was on bloomin rails. I wouldnt fancy my chances against a Cooper S on some real twisties.
  12. Could it possibly be the case that nobody here has sided with your view, therefore you class it as cliquey? Any chance you just can't accept you are in a minority over yourviews of the UTEC? I havent got the first clue what this box is capable of or not capable of as I have no tuning knowledge what so ever, but I can see when someone is having a pop at members and the forum rather than discussing the topic. As has been said previously, why dont we all wait and see what the dyno results have to say once the box makes it over to the UK, courtesy of 350Z-uk.com andour friends across the pond.
  13. I am sure there are a few techy folk out there that have this. I havent looked into it yet myself, but just a reminder that this forum supports contact by skype. You can put in your skype contact name/number in your profile and it activates the Skype button at the bottom of your signature (just like the msn/aim buttons). Then anyone else who has the software can click the button and give you a call.. Just thought I'd let you all know...
  14. Lets not let this get personal folks.. There has been some good banter over the product, which I for one, as a complete tuning novice am finding very interesting. Lets not spoil it by starting pointless personal arguments. On a slightly different note however I have personally been lambasted by "comittee" members of other sites for usng a different username on those sites. I would be very disapointed if members of that same "comittee" were now demonstrating double standards here... Especially if that user has made several posts on this forum naming the "other forum", knowing full well that mention of our forum on theirs is prohibited. Please can all posters here take this as a gentle nudge to get this one back on topic.. Ta, Chris
  15. So - just to prevent anyone else asking what may turn out to be an embarrasing question..... How do we make our stock Z switch to agressive mode?
  16. Liam, You should be able to attach images to your posts, though there is a file size limit to this, if you keep it under 200kb you should be OK. Or you could use your free gallery space, and link to the image there? Again, the smaller you make the files, the better performance will be, and also the less chance there is of the server software that creates the thumbnails, throwing a wobbly there will be too. Other than that you can try imageshack or photobucket?
  17. Ive got the 700, and would now not be without it on longer trips (where I dont know exactly where Im headed). I forgot I have a remote control! LOL. Just a gimmick really, I cant see any point in having a remote to be honest - its within arms reach, so why?
  18. Im looking forward to sporting one of these myself...
  19. Ordered mine today - well, the missus's! What a romantic valentines gift! LOL:P But it was what she asked for I suppose. Of course they are coming with the web address on too...
  20. This is what I have.... Cant for the life of me figure out how to get the whole tray out - just the bit...
  21. Hang on, Ill go take a pic of mine, and the "piece". I dont think there is a hole... Hang on...
  22. First you need to create the avatar file. 100 x 100 pixels maximum, and less than 6kb in size. (this keeps the forum tidy and fast) once you have created the file, put it in your gallery. Once the file is in your gallery, you copy the link to it eg. "http://www.350z-uk.com/gallery/albums/userpics/10004/avatar.JPG" and then select this as your avatar in your profile. Any problems let me know.... Edit: scrap the above - Ive enabled avatar uploading. Just make a suitably small file (100 x 100 pixels and 6kb max size) Go to your profile and uploa your own avatar, much easier now!
