Bose removed, Sony XAV fitted. Can Bury Bluetooth still work?

Evening members,

 

Just got my first Z (2005) last month, it's the dogs boll**ks and I love it!!! Not long after I got it the Bose CD jammed..... So I had a Sony XAV-65 fitted not thinking about the Bury Bluetooth adapter located in the centre compartment. So the phone still connects but no sound comes through.

 

Any way I can get that working again? The Sony unit doesn't have Bluetooth which I knew but thought the Bluetooth would still ring through. It used to come up on the Bose head unit saying phone.

 

Is it also worth having upgraded speakers fitted?

 

I'm a novice to the Z so any advice is greatly appreciated!

Oem Bluetooth won't work with an aftermarket head unit.
