Centre console Swap

Apologises, but the google links to previous post aren't working anymore and no doubt this question has been asked before.

 

Here goes

 

Jap spec centre console, is it just the main speedo unit that sends signals, reading etc to it?? Obviously the speedo is re calibrated to MPH and the console speedo reads the same just has KPH.. So with that in mind would swapping the jap console for an English have any effect the speed readings etc

I'm not sure but I have a feeling you might be right as I was going to change it once.
