kazman Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 Hi all, One of the phono plugs on my Bose ICT loom seems to be breaking down. If i waggle the plug the speaker channel will cut in and out. Is there any easy way to just chop the plug and resolder? I have chopped up a couple of leads i had laying around at home, and cant see an easy way to get in to the moulding short of chopping the plug off entirely. Doing this leaves a small insulated wire inside some copper shielding. I dont really want to have to buy another entire loom, so if anyone can tell me if there is a cheap way to deal with this it would be much appreciated! Quote
un1eash Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 Same thing happened to my loom, i just took an old phono lead i had, cut of the plug with some wire and soldered it to the loom wiring. Quote
kazman Posted December 9, 2010 Author Posted December 9, 2010 Thanks for that. So you cut the wire, strip to back a bit and then strip the insulated wire inside the main black flex and solder that? Quote
