Reversing sensors - not always working

My 2006 Roadster has the factory fitted reversing sensors fitted to it, I noticed yesterday whilst nearly reversing into the wifes car that they weren't working. Yet this morning they were working again!!

 

Is this a known problem and should it be warranty covered?

 

Its not really something I use, much prefer to use my eyes and brain, but as its fitted, i would like it owkring properly.

does your car have sensors? mine doesn't It thinks its a truck when you put it in reverse.
