As my P3 is due I was wondering, should I continue with my 0w40 oil or should I really change to 5w 30 as recommended? Trouble is, every few k my oil needs topping up 1/2 litre as expected so do I have to buy the same oil from the dealer if they provide 5w 30 or can I mix it with 0w 40 (as I have this in my garage).

What's the difference? Are they both fully synthetic?

Yes, I tried search but it's not much cop isnt it!

You should have no problems mixing oil grade or type. But i am using Amsoil 5-30 fully synthetic and would only really use the same to top up. ;)

Interesting point Mike.

I have been running the 0w40 for over 12 months and without any complaints from Nissan Chorley.

Will ask Lockwood what they advise and stick to that this time I think though.
