Hi there

the lid cluster cubby on 08 HR is discoloured. Looked at replacing but only available on import.

has anyone tried to detach the cover. There are four small screws, two on either side which lifts the front. However can get more than a few mm out of it. Before I wedge something in and prize apart, thought would reach out.

may attempt a plain wrap.

Hi Alan, I was in the same boat as you, I decided imported a cubby i think it was about £150 from memory.

 

In order to fit a replacement cubby, or get access to the door you need to remove the waterfall 1st then unscrew the cubby from the rear of the waterfall.

 

There are a few videos on youtube that show how to do this.

Good call on holding off before forcing it, you definitely would've snapped some clips trying to pry that front part out. Pulling the waterfall piece is the right way to do it, and wrapping it is a solid backup plan if the new part ends up being a hassle to import.
