Key registration

Hey yall . So I have a 2005 fairlady z . These come with the ignition key with the lock and unlock button. I’m a mechanic and have access to key registration equipment. My key fob died and I’ve been having a hard time making the unlock and lock buttons work. I replaced the battery and tried the 6 in and out programming process but no luck. If there’s anyone here who may know I’d appreciate the help.
