Driver side clunk - alignment with ball joint change?

Hey guys, hoping someone with knowledge on the steering and general suspension might be able to help on this.

There seems to be a loud clunk which will only happen when steering from left to right at very very slow speeds and the vibration can be felt through the pedals.

Can't seem to replicate the problem all the time, doesn't seem to happen when braking or under any load, only when pulling away at slow speeds (seems to happen more frequently when it's colder too?)

So decided to first of all have a look at the the suspension bushes to see if any might have perished and they all seem good, no cracked rubbers and had a good look at the dreaded banana bar and looks fine. Checked the wheel bearing for any play too.

It was suggested to look at the ball joint on the upper control arm connecting to the wheel hub arm and as it's cheap that's where we might start.

My main question though is will the car need another alignment after we change the ball joints?

All suggestions welcome :)
