  1. Hi all, long time no speak here as I am now emersed in the world of all things Lotus.

I have a pair of OEM cats in my garage which were removed from 47,000 mile, 2003 Zed (replaced with BERK HFCs).

The pair have been sat in my garage for three years, so I should really give them away to free up space!

One stud will be need pressing/drilling out as it half snapped. No nuts, no bolts, no gaskets. Collection only from Chelmsford **FREE**

Ideal for MOTs etc if you are running bypass pipes.

    Thanks,

    Matt

    Hi all,

First of all I apologise for being a stranger of late. Amongst other things my father passed away last May so my priorities have shifted away from the car scene and obviously towards to my family. Anyway...

After four wonderful years I am reluctantly selling my 350Z :byebye: . I have recently acquired a gorgeous ruby red S1 Elise (which is currently in storage) as I intend to get into the track scene this year. Given this I am willing to close a quick sale, at a sensible price of course. I also need a second car so I am willing to PX on a clean, practical car with some credibility. An E46 worth between 2-3k would make an ideal stable mate. A Golf 4 GTI, Sporty Seat etc would also be considered. I would love to keep the Nissan but it's too nice to park outside/not use.

Forum members are welcome to PM me. No it's not the cheapest but I feel the expensive additions support the price at 8,150 neg. As mentioned in the advert the tax is due on April 1st, MOT Dec 2012. The last service was less than 3000 miles ago but this was a year ago now. I reiterate that I am fluid on price.

I am a busy professional so please, no offers to break the car or sell this and that separately.

    Thanks,

  5. Hi Martin,

    Are your discs quite old?

I experienced a similar problem when my wheels were last aligned. Upon removing the wheel for a closer look (and listen) I realised that the rubbing was coming from the rear face of my disc. I removed the disc and found that the backing plate was quite corroded so I cleaned it thoroughly with a wire brush and removed some surface rust/rot on my disc. This solved the problem until I replaced my discs...

Having the wheels aligned seemed to trigger the issue for me so it is possible that you disturbed something / a piece of corroded disc has become lodged causing the rubbing sound.

It might be worth a look

  7. Have you thought about a Stillen Y Pipe and a pairs of Berk HFCs? You could also speak to Abbey about their XYZ pipe?

I installed my Berk high flow cats last weekend (the decats were too smelly and too raspy for me) and I am very pleased with the fit and finish. As an added bonus the Berk HFCs are much lighter than then OEM cats.

  8. The prices tend to vary a lot depending on where you live and metallic paint is more expensive than a flat finish. I am currently in the same boat and I have recently received three quotes to paint both wings, the bumper and bonnet in kuro black.

Quote one; 1,100 + VAT (from a large body shop who deal mostly with insurance work).

Quote two; 860 + VAT (a local Lotus specialist who are well respected).

Quote three; 780 + VAT (a small independent I have used before who offer a good service).

    I hope that helps,

    Matt

  9. Thanks cookbot & sarnie. I have just checked AK350Z's posts and there is indeed a picture of his bike in his Zed. I am tempted to take the train to be honest and spare myself the potential of scuffing my interior!

Ace, I am a central line man during the week. My 350z is a weekend toy

  10. As per the title really!

After a ten year break from biking I have decided to ‘dip my toe in the water’ in the form of a Kona Cinder Cone from ebay :yahoo:

The only problem is that the bike is located in Birmingham and I need to collect it. Does anyone know if it will squeeze in the 350z if I remove the wheels and seat? The frame is 17â€.

    Thanks all,

    Matt
