    Nissan 350Z GT4 !

I have been thinking of selling mine for ages, but can't decide what I want next. Having seen the prices they are going for I think I'll hang on as I think it's mad to sell at the moment and loose so much. With prices as they are, I cant see them falling a lot more in the next 12 months. I was offered £17k for mine as a px on a BMW back in March, and turned it down as they were going for £19k privately! Having said that, there is a 57 plate GT with satnav at my local dealers up for £17.5k at the moment, and I did think about just swapping for a newer one
  2. If you go to www.vauxhall.co.uk and select 'Owners' and 'Value your Car' - you can get a part-ex Glasses valuation for free. There has to be some reason to encourage people to go to the Vauxhall site
  3. +2 I'd never leave my car at a train station car park... you have to pay for parking too! And i wouldnt get the train to work either. I hate public transport... i'd rather pay more for petrol etc so i can have my personal time. Am a bit worried about leaving the car, but its a rural station with free parking. I've been to check it out and there were several nice cars there. Did think about a pushbike, but I will be suited and booted so dont fancy getting wet in the rain, or hot and sweaty in the heat. I'm not a big fan of public transport either, but the job is in Birmingham City Centre with no parking apart from public multistoreys which would cost a fortune if I used them every day....
  4. Some of you may remember I posted up a while ago about problems with my current job - well all being well it now looks like I have a new job to go to in a couple of months Difference is that I will now need to catch a train to work as opposed to driving every day. My current commute is around 15 miles each way which give the Zed a reasonable run. With the train I have explored all the options, and current thinking is to drive to a station which is 3.8 miles away and park up for the day. This means a) Leaving the Zed at the station all day, and It only having a short journey every day which I'm assuming isnt very good for it in the long run. I am thinking about changing, but want to settle into the job before I do anything so will probably wait until the end of the year now . First question is will all these short trips be damaging to the car, or will it just mean poor fuel economy? Second question is should I change or keep the Zed? I dont like the idea of leaving it at the station all day, but fuel etc will be less of an issue now as Im doing less miles. Dont want to go down the 2 car route as I think it would cost more and havent got the space for 3 cars anyway (g/f has a car). If I change I would like something a bit more practical for going away in, something that wouldnt attract too much attention parked up all day, but still reasonably fast and with plenty of toys. Along these lines Im thinking of a fully loaded Golf GTi....but that is such a safe choice and I like things that are a bit different. Any other suggestions?
  5. I had an RX8 for two years when they first came out and really liked it. It is practical compared with the Zed, the only problem I had with the boot is the opening isnt that wide to put stuff in. If you're used to the Zed's torque, it may seem strange having to rev the nuts off it to go fast, but its part of the fun like a Honda VTEC. Economy wise, over 2 years the RX8 averaged 18-19mpg, the Zed does 22-23mpg over the same journeys. It does use some oil but its not really an issue and you can get it cheap through the owners club. Apart from that you've got the usual stream of hot hatches, but some are only 3 door. The Golf GTi is always a sensible choice, or the Seat Leon FR/Cupra have 5 doors and the Cupra is 237bhp. New Audi S3 is nice but expensive. I had a Mazda 6 MPS follow me home the other night, a bit dull looking but quick as it managed to keep up with me I've been going through the same dilemma about changing the Zed, and ive decided its very hard to find something to replace it without spending silly money.
  6. I'm just catching up as I missed the buildup to all this - Liam married and becoming a dad! Anyway, All the very best to you both for a long and happy life together
  7. Echo everyone else's comments on here, we had a great day, excellent drive, the site of all those zeds was awesome Once again, thanks to Beavis and the guys for organising helping. The only sour note was kerbing my alloy pulling out of the car park at Betwsy....Gutted only had them done in January......Oh well my own fault Here's a couple of panoramic pics I took.....
  8. Mines nice and shiney now too Will probably be covered in dust tomorrow morning though after the 100 mile drive up and overnight stay in the car park
  9. Danny, I had a P1 earlier in the year, and phoned round both of the Birmingham dealers, Coventry, and Warwick. I always used to go to Colliers but thought the price they quoted me was taking the pi$$ I saveed £50 from the next cheapest by driving to Warwick and having it done there. They lent me a nice Micra too Its not that far from me, but i guess it depends upon where you live in brum....
  10. Just had a look and someones just bought it on a 'Buy it now'! You have to be quick around here.....
  11. That's one ugly nose and its got Rover 75 lights The coupe doesnt look that bad from the rear though, even though it doesnt look anything like the finished article.......

Hope you get it sorted and make it to Chester...........
  14. Interesting Alternative. http://www.mgsv-club.co.uk/wyleshardy.htm Being auctioned off at the moment. 400bhp 5.0 Litre, 0-60 in under 5 secs, carbon composite body and £82,950 new. Probably pick one up for under £30k. Ridiculous price new, but better value now. One went past me on the M42 the other week and looked impressive. Dont know what the deal is with parts and after sales support / servicing though
  15. I voted for a couple of tarts, but for some reason thaty doesnt seem very popular
  16. Errrr.....I think so yes
  17. 52 cars. Wow Are you guys travelling up the M6 on Saturday or Sunday? We're going up around Saturday lunchtime to spend the afternoon in Chester. p.s. What happened to Kevlar?
  18. Was giving the Z a pre wales wax yesterday, and I opened the bonnet whilst the window wipers were sticking up - not a good move! This caused the wipers to slam back down, and a plastic piece has come off (from the drivers side I think) which looks like a protective strip of some sort. I think a piece of it may have snapped off. Anyone know (or have a pic) of how this goes back on properly? If not I'll bring it to wales as there will be 50 other cars to look at to see how it fits
  19. Only caught the last 15 mins, but thought he was hilarious. Completely barking mad but hilarious!

I had a 3 series right up my a**e joining a motorway the other week, I floored it and didnt miss any changes but he was still 2" from my bumper, so before we got to silly speeds I just pulled over and let him past as he was obviously a tw4t with something to prove. When he went past I waved and noticed it was a 335d. Quick car indeed, shame about the driver.
  22. I'm in Solihull too and drive around 28 miles round trip into east Birmingham. It's mostly urban and dual carriageways with lots of roundabouts (decelerating and accelerating which is bad for economy but good for fun factor ) Like most people say I average low 20's (21-24 mpg). If I drive more spiritedly it can drop under 20, but tootle along and it can go over 25. On a motorway run ay sensible speeds, I can average around 30 which isnt bad for a 300bhp V6. Ive had mine almost 2 years and dont regret it one bit. The cost of fuel is beginning to hurt a bot more though, and dont forget the increased road tax from next year....
  23. We could all reset our trip computers at the start of the run and see who gets the best/worst mpg of the day. It could make for some interesting stats if nothing else....
