  1. my car is due for a service this month. i just rang my local nissan dealership (buckhurst hill) and they said i needed the level 3 service.

i asked him if that was the same as a P3 and he didn't really know what i was talking about.

can somebody tell me what the difference is?

also they quoted me £345, is that about right?

  2. driven sort of sensibly. i did have a gearbox problem that nissan took ages too sort and i imagine put some stress on the clutch.

big phil i'll be giving you a call in 2 weeks after pay day

  3. probably an idiotic question to most of you.

this morning when i put my foot down at low revs and in 4th gear the revs went up very quickly and the exhaust note got louder. the car on the other hand didn't go much quicker and the revs soon dropped back down to match the speed of the car. when i got out the car later there was a faint smell of clutch.

i assume this means a new clutch is needed but i thought i'd better ask you lot incase it's anything else

  4. was wondering if anybody new how much i should expect to pay for a new standard front bumper and where i could get one?

somebody crashed in to me and drove off, the insurance company will only repair it and i think it needs a new one! as i've gotta pay for the new one i want to do it as cheaply as possible

  5. i've prob put this on the wrong part of the forum, but has anybody had a problem with their alternator belt slipping when the car is cold. i've taken it back to nissan twice about it and they never fix it properly. it's ok for a couple of days but starts to screech again soon after.

apparently it has a self adjuster and it should fix itself.

it's gotta be the most embarassing noise. is it a big job to replace the self adjustor? my neighbours are realy getting annoyed with me in the mornings!

  6. i've need a to get a new front bumperand have it sprayed. does anybody know of a good one in the essex area cos the last one i used (solis panelcraft) did the worst blending job ive ever seen.

  7. well it seems like H5's advice has worked. after writing a bit of a snotty letter back to nissan customer service they have agreed to strip and fix my gearbox down next week and there will be no charge!!!! cheers for everybody's help with this and it just shows that perseverance pays off!!

one thing they did say though was that if i pay 5% of the costs then the parts they replace will be covered under a warranty typre protection. has anybody ever heard of this before?
