Your synchromesh is on the way out You just need the dealer mechanic to drive your car and replicate the problem. As soon as the dealer puts the wheels in motion with NissanGB warranty I'd call CS to make sure they're on top of things. I waited a stupidly long amount of time to get things sorted.ie months! Insist on getting a new gearbox,if you're unlucky they'll try the repair before replace strategy.Don't stand for it! Good luck

Apparently!!! I'm happy with Abbey though because I find they are honest and professional so if there are problems they don't gloss over them or overcharge me for them either. But they are *stupifyingly* busy which means sometimes a job can't be done until 8 weeks after initial contact, which makes minor tweaks a big headache. It's the lack of in-depth knowledge of the Z which is the major headache. Of course, by the time the major tuners have this, we'll all be on the GT-R forums with our 2007 supercars complaining how there's no expertise in them instead Give me a month and I'll be UK Z UTEC tuner No.1

did they do it under warranty with no fuss? that would be a first Yeah they did it under warranty,but took so long that I asked how much it was just to buy a new one.The quote I was given gave me a little more patience

As Kev said it sounds like your synchromesh. I had my 'box replaced after 3rd to 5th and 4th to 5th changes started being really stiff and grinding!! Get ready for a BIG bill if you're going to a dealer

Congratulations Finch! Nice work. I could be wrong,but I think that car was in Fast+Modified a couple of years ago,remeber the owner talking about being from the 'states and bringing stuff over for it. I'll try and find the issue.
