I work for an orange coloured garage, and I've seen a few cars come through that aren't great that have an AA safety check.
When I've bought cars like that I've insisted it comes with full year mot done at a garage of my choosing. I even pay for the mot. If the seller refuses I walk away.
Halfords do free safety checks that cover more than an mot, just not emissions.
What these organisations do they allow to perform check by the seller himself so obviously vehicle overall is not as described as there is always a car no one wants to sell or has many not apparent issues
DEKRA, AA or RAC inspection?

I know is while back.
All these mentioned service providers don’t inspect insurance write offs (cat c or cat d now cat s or cat n)
Most advance and up to date inspection service currently in the UK is CarExamer.com they work only highly experienced technicians who inspect cars from campers, luxury vehicles, supercars and sport cars- they have created they own internal blue print how to inspect vehicles they provide potential repair costs, check service history, vin number if matches the vehicle.
I have noticed some great features like: This includes features such as an online portal to view your inspection updates in real-time, regular notification updates on every step of the booking progress, communication with inspector internally, unlimited vehicle images as required, potential repair costs provided, *free cancellations simply available from personal account, same day vehicle inspection options and loyalty discounts, multi-buy discounts all work together to give the best possible value for money from one of the only specialist inspection services that are on the market. If you are unsure about what you need and are looking to multiple inspections, that can make the prices even more favourable to you.
