I was getting that, then the demand on the electrical system took it's toll. Your case maybe very different, some methodical, basic electrical tests should point you in the direction of the fault.
Where did you find your problem?
just tried bypassing the clutch position sensor and didn't fix the issue. Ordered a new one anyways.
-
Going to have another look at it later today.
would it be battery connections if I'm still getting all electrics?
i have found my original key, gonna try that.
if that fails I'm then going to try bypassing the clutch switch.
switch seems okay, when I press it in the car still doesn't start though. Is it possible for the switch to just fail?
-
Update:
car is still refusing to start. When I turn the key the immob light goes off so that can't be the issue.
starter doesn't click and the car now doesn't start if being jumped. Just makes no noise at all.
-
Doesn't sound like mine I don't think mate, bloody cars
-
No fuses have gone. Everything works perfectly fine all instruments light up and fans work etc.
when I turn key to position two all I get is a squeak.
Earth all looks to be okay. How strange.

Okay so I bought a battery tester and turns out battery was fried. Bought a new one from Nissan at £59, surprised how cheap it was!
car still refuses to start though, makes the same "click" sound when turns to position 2.
no fuel pump priming at all
-
Nope that didn't clear it up, shame. What sort of battery do I need to order?
-
Ooh okay, will have a look tomorrow.
only difference is I can't hear my fuel pump priming when I turn the key. So random
-
Okay so update. I jump started the car and it fires up fine.
after it ran for a bit I turned it off and then it wouldn't crank again. 10 minutes later it started up fine. Then wouldn't start again! I'm guessing the battery has had it ?
-
If my fuel pump had failed would the car still crank over ?
-
My battery is reading 12v when the ignition is on.
just makes no noise whatsoever when I turn to crank it over, other than a creak
-
Hi my car today has decided it no longer wants to start.
When I turn the key all the electrics come on and fans. But when I turn to crank it over nothing happens, I get a squeak and that's it.
battery should be all fine, nothing disconnected.
Any ideas? I'm thinking possible starter motor failure but i can't even hear the fuel pump prime when I click it on the second turn on the key.
thanks guys

Think I've got it sussed.
just looked at the clutch pedal and I can see the sensor and it's coated in blue electrical tape. Guessing someone has bypassed the sensor poorly.
guess I've found this afternoons job!
Cheers guys

Will check tomorrow but I know for a fact the terminals are all connected tight.
im starting to think it could be starter solenoid.
just seems strange that if I leave it for a minute it will start fine
-
Just seen on another thread that you can adjust the switch. Will have a go at that tomorrow.
is there any other things it could be ?
-
Yep clutch pedal being pressed.
Okay thanks is it a hard job?

Hi I have a strange problem with my 350z.
basically every now and again I will get in the car, turn the key to position 2 and everything lights up and all electrics work but then the car won't start.
it won't even crank over or any noise just nothing.
any ideas? Thanks
-
That's the impression I was under
-
Not too fussed about assembling it together, can't be that hard
spoke to Nissan today and even they don't understand the "P" suffix.
he also advised me it's a post cat sensor, I thought it was pre cat?
-
-
Nice one thanks!
Does the second code with a P on the end mean anything?
-
Okay so I've just done a scan and I have 2 codes come up
p0051 and
p0051 (p)
any ideas guys? Thanks

Hi all.
basically last week I serviced my 350z and started the car and was fine. Then when I started it again later the EML came on.
so I reset the ECU and all was fine on my 30 mile drive until I pulled over. Once I started the car again the EML came on again.
i have ordered a code reader but I'm just wondering if anyone has any ideas?
the car isn't running any different and isn't making any strange noises so I'm stumped. Everything is connected as it should be.
thanks in advance

So Nissan called me today, they have got the car started. They are telling me that my IPDM is completely corroded and that could be the culprit. Does anyone know where to source one?
