In that case I'd go 10.5 and not really be prepared to move too much unless the deal benefited you in some way.

I'd also be looking to refit a standard exhaust system and sell the motor dyne separately as that's where you'll really make your money back. Only real Nissan / 350z enthusiasts will appreciate just how special that exhaust is

Yeah the exhaust truly is a one of a kind! Thing is cause its tuned, Won't it run bad if I put standard one back on?

What tends to hit the value of heavily modded cars is a mix of:

    • Has it been done properly or have short cuts been taken
    • I didn't do it myself so don't know what issues have come up as the car was modded
    • Insurance costs
    • Cosmetic mods often reduce your potential buying audience making it less sought after and harder to sell
    • Future potential value where unmodded cars are generally more sought after

When modding a car you have to go in eyes wide open that every penny you spend is likely to never come back - unless you set back to standard and sell parts used.

All that said, I had a reasonably modified 350z years ago and was told I would never sell it at the premium price I put it up for, I sold it within a couple of weeks at the asking price. I think I was quite lucky in that respect and wouldn't say thats the norm!

If you have the time, price it a little above the going rate for an unmodded one and try your luck. If nothing bites, drop some value off or offer up some sort of deal i.e. buy it cheaper but you dont get the easy to replace value items like wheels/intake etc. just pick up some standard items cheap off ebay and sell wheels etc separately.

Thanks for that info! Yeah it's just the lack of time on my hands is the problem at the moment. I could sell the wheels separately and maybe some cosmetic bits.

One thing that really helps HRs achieve good money is whether the owner can answer if repair has been done, that being the gallery gaskets and clutch slave cylinder.

Both are weak spots on HRs which can incur large repair bills and two areas I'd be quizzing the seller on. IMO, without these done around 8K. With these done, solid 10.5 grand is what I would put that up for

Yeah I had the gallery gaskets done by horsham and zspeed slave cylinder when the clutch was installed.

  4. Yeah Paul that has been on my mind as I think they might be a bit of a waste just left on there and I have not really seen any for sale. Plus I did get a set of 4 standard rays that came with the car so could stick them on 😂

Yeah to be fair Azurez I have seen a few for sale that been past 10k. I dont know if there's been a slight increase in price for them. I might dabble up in that price range just to see if I get any luck. It won't hurt trying ay.

  6. If you paid via credit card you probably could have cancelled

I've used them many times without any issue found them ok to be honest but they did send me the wrong parts and it wasn't easy to sort that out

I don't have a credit card, but gonna apply for one. Yeah I have heard others say they have got the wrong parts before. Was gonna order some other stuff from them but not so sure now.

  7. Hello friends

Have any of you had a bad experience with z1 motorsport? If anybody doesn't know where they are, they are based in America.

I ordered the motordyne tdx2 exhaust from them and I went onto the shipping. Typed in my post code and quotes came up with the cheapest one being 208 dollars. That was with FedEx international economy shipping. 6 weeks later they said to me I have to pay an additional 210 or 280 for freight shipping? I said that I have already paid for the shipping. Then they said the payment was for it to be shipped from motordyne where it was built to them guys at z1? it clearly had none of this info on the site. They owned up for the false mistake but I got no sympathy for it or anything. I could not get some compensation from them either. It came down to pay the additional charge on top or get a full refund. I payed the 210 for freight as I'm hoping it would of worked out cheaper than anywhere else depending on fees. But this is just a word of warning for you guys and if anyone has had a bad time with them. Communication was @*!# from them and the fact that it said it may take between 4-6 weeks to get here. It's now been a week over 6 weeks since I purchased it on April 17th. It's gonna get shipped tommorow.

Anyways I hope this is the right thread to post it haha! Cheers for your time guys

  8. Hello fellow Z owners! How you all doing? I am new to this site so I'll give a brief intro. My name is Jake and I'm from Cornwall. I'm a proud 350z owner that I bought last year and I have loved every second of it. It's a 2007 HR and the only mods are stillen gen3 intakes and a cobra exhaust system. My last car was a civic ek4 so it's a bit of a big step haha. I plan on doing other mods in the future. Look forward to hearing you!✌post-29208-0-44843900-1492557932_thumb.jpg
