What did you do to the door panels specifically? Just clean them up or paint them?

Hi All,

The car came with a sub par radio which can't even get a good FM signal, skips when it plays CD's and has a woeful bluetooth connection so I am on the lookout for a double DIN unit to replace it.

Preferably with SatNav capabilities and a rear view camera.

There seem to be tonnes on the market so just want to pick your brains about what you have and what you would recommend for the money.

I gutted the rear of the car at the weekend and fitted a whole load of dynamat to reduce the road noise. Much improved.

Did you get stung by HMRC on the import duties?

The R53 has been sold now (to make way for the 350). Will put up a few pics of the turbo mini - maybe a gopro vid too if I can pull my finger out

R53 with 240bhp must be silly amounts of fun on b roads - was considering getting an R53 Cooper S as a daily

They're genuinely great cars. Very easily tuned. Standard output is around 160 bhp and getting up to 240 is pretty straightforward - cam, smaller supercharger pulley, larger I/C, injectors and a remap. Probably about a grand or there abouts to get it to a point where its hard to put the traction down.

They're thirsty though for a daily.

Recently put deposit down on an '04 350Z GT so thought I would join the forum and get involved in the Z world.

Prior to the Z, I've had an S2000 and am a mini addict. 3 classics and an R53 putting out 240bhp.

Currently also own a self built stripped and turbocharged classic mini which is the weekend fun car. (150 bhp with a 600kg car is a hoot)

Due to collect the Z this weekend.
