  1. Its time to choose a set of tyres, anyone out there have any experience with the Ultrac Vorti? They seem to get good reviews on tyrereview.co.uk but they've been pushed down the list on the autoexpress 2016/17 tyre tests. Thanks for any input.

  2. Finally been able to get out and have a look myself, you can see the pattern is the wrong way round. The cut off for the passenger side is slanted the the left, it should be the other way around. I've also attached an example.

Also, still on the look out for a new headlight, Lee doesn't want to answer his phone :bang:

  3. Strange, that headlight was on the last couple of years when the MOT was done and no mention of it then.

The passenger side is a replacement as the old one was scratched before I got it and letting in water which caused it to fail.

Hi Tom! I know, that's what I thought, seems strange that its all of a sudden wrong. Andy (Atkin's in Malton), said that it could be possible that it's a non-uk part which is why it isn't giving off the right pattern. I know its asking alot but I don't suppose you know where you got it from? There may be a receipt in the folder (its at home and i'm at work so i can't check), don't worry if you can't remember, i'll be having a look when I get home.

  4. Hi there,

You guessed it, its MOT time and it failed, surprisingly though, it was the headlight beam pattern which was the problem!

The passenger side beam isn't giving off the right pattern, apparently it looks like a non-uk assembly has been put in the passenger side. So i'm hunting for a UK spec passenger side headlight assembly.

From previous posts someone else has been pointed in the direction of Zamanalex and Emperor tuning, but not sure they have any.

    Any and all help appreciated!

    Thanks.

Not to worry, I made some new fixing points with my drill  bwahahaa.

I was never brave enough to take a drill to fibreglass. What does it look like now?

I've not painted it yet, just waiting until it gets a little warmer to start crawling around on the floor again. It definitely keeps the engine bay cleaner though!

Just seen this, I still have the arch liners which you could of had. The last time I took it in to Lockwood and Greenwood I asked for them to be refitted but they didn't want to attach them as that bumper is missing some of the fixing points.

 I did notice you'd bought some liners when I was looking through the stack of receipts but thought they may have been added and removed, or for the back, oh well :) Not to worry, I made some new fixing points with my drill  bwahahaa.

  7. Ok, well, maybe thats not quite true, I was on the A1 and could see a salt spreader ahead of me (middle lane!) doing around 50mph. Do I stay well back behind it for the next 6miles? slowly creep past? or bury the go pedal? Decisions decisions.

So anyway, I took my chance and went for it. I could have cried hearing all that salt bouncing off my bodywork   .

  8. Hi all, I fitted some arch liners last week and while I had the wheel off I noticed some rust forming. Is it worth getting the wheel back off, cleaning the area and getting some hammerite on there? (que a possibly silly question, would i be safe to use an electric sander to remove the rust?)
    Thanks
