  1. It's 2007, ie HR if I'm not wrong. What year is yours? DE? I'm not 100% but I think HR and DE filter is different. If wrong filter is fitted, your engine will still work OK but not filtering foreign objects properly that might damage your engine in long run. Worth getting the right one mate.

Its a 56 plate so yeah it will be a DE. It was definitely that filter, the engine code on it is DE (I tried putting in 2007 to see if it had anything different).

  2. I bought this filter last week, it does sit inside but not completely snug (like the old OEM one did), is this going to cause problems, have I bought the wrong filter etc? It isn't loose, just a bit in the middle is sticking out from the frame. The engine runs fine with it in.

  3. @Juggalo, if I leave that in my car with the engine off will it drain the battery by sending out bluetooth signals?

I believe it's on a permanent live, so leave it long enough and it will drain the battery.

Bummer, are there any which do turn off?

I couldn't say for sure and can only go off of the couple I've tried, I think they're designed that way.

In my very limited experience, when I kill the ignition the bluetooth/wifi connection doesn't drop, so can only assume that's because it's still hot. I'm guess someone with some electrical brains could fit an inline switch for the OBD2 port, so you could manually turn it off without disconnecting the device but I don't think I've seen it done on here.

Any reason why you want to leave it in all the time, mine fits nicely into the ashtray/coin holder when out of use.

That's a shame, it can't be that hard to make something that turns off or goes to stand by when the engine is off?

The reason I want to leave it in all the time is just pure laziness, I would have thought that technology can worry about whether the adapter is sending a signal or not so I don't have to.

  5. I never tire of giving my passengers items whilst driving and asking them to put them in the glove box lol.gif

Can't imagine why the designers decided that we needed to keep our gloves in little cupboards behind the seats.

Even better when they ask whether the tray in the dashboard is the glovebox.
