  1. Just to clarify, what do you get for the £325 on September 2nd? If that's for a full day, with only people we know are coming and is simply divided up into sessions to keep the numbers on track reasonable, I'm in, if it's just a single session during the day, I'm not so interested. If that makes sense?

im guessing everyone would get put into a session with other cars in the other session each session last i guess 30mins then 30mins break then 30mins out again etc all day

You would get 7x 20minute sessions on the track (one of these will have sighting laps in them). The circuit capacity is 46, so, if you had 46 cars turn up (or as a club paid £14,800) you could have the session exclusively.

  2. Ok,

Tuesday, September 2nd is a Session GP day at £325 per head, we would need 46 for an exclusive session to be possible but at this number I can arrange a 10% discount from the RRP and do some garages for the event.

The Open Pit Lane event is Monday July 7th, It's £450 per head. If we get more than 5 on this I can again arrange a 10% discount but you will need to buy your own garages unfortunately. All Brands Hatch Grand Prix Open pit events have a high number of race cars on them! I can't see this one being any different.

If you let me know what's best I can set something up for you. If you want to do the exclusive session (I'd recommend it in all honesty) you can bring another club along to make up the numbers.

  3. I have used msv several times for track days at Snetterton and can highly recommend them. Well organised, sensible, and we'll marshalled.

Didn't know you did drifting at Snetterton? Thought it was only Oulton.

What's the set up for the drifting at Snetterton then? I'm itching to try it.

We run drifting on the 100 circuit on an Open Pit Lane format. Limited numbers (35 at most events) and normally Kingsway tyres are there for tyre support.

  4. Hey Guys & Girls!

In 2013 we started running our social meets "Summer Wednesdays" at Brands Hatch for car and bike enthusiasts bored with being labelled "boy racers" where ever they went. These grew in popularity so quickly that they are now one of the biggest regular "meets" in the London and South East district. With partners Kleers in attendance at all the evenings, we now run show and shine competitions and have track time for most of the events!

We now run these events on the first Wednesday of the month at Brands Hatch and the third Wednesday of the month at Snetterton - April to October (inclusive).

All entry is free, we just ask that you keep the neighbours happy by behaving on the way in and out. ;)

All updates on these events are via Facebook:

  5. Track Days are the perfect way for anyone with a car to fulfil an aspiration to drive on a race circuit and where MSVT venues are concerned you will be on the very best circuits in the UK.

We have all seen TV coverage of motor sport, from F1 to Touring Cars or the Top Gear driving experiences and wondered what it would be like to be that “Star in a Reasonably Priced Carâ€. Track days, whether for Novice or Expert drivers are the very best way to find out!

    What is a Track Day?

An opportunity to drive a road based car on a real race circuit in a controlled and cost effective way with the chance to explore the performance of the car and the nature of the circuit with no speed cameras to worry about and all the traffic going in the same direction!

A Track Day is a structured event with a typical timetable that will involve some early morning administration including registering in with your driving licence and booking confirmation.

Should you need crash helmets or feel that you would benefit from advice or tuition from one of our experienced circuit instructors now would be the time to book the equipment or a session.

Your car will need to be noise tested to ensure that the circuits can work in harmony with their neighbours; these limits are set at levels that cover the majority of cars even with some degree of modification.

At every stage there will be MSV personnel on hand to answer questions and help you through the various aspects of the day.

A Mandatory Driver’s Briefing will be held where details such as the timetable for the day, administration and car preparation, track layout and other relevant safety considerations will be explained before you venture out on track.

Covering all aspects of the running of the day the briefing will also specifically cover safety criteria such as access on and off the circuit as well as flag and light signals, which are the only way for the marshals and administration staff to communicate with drivers when they are on track.

Flag and light signals are internationally recognised throughout motorsport and if they are relevant to Formula 1 they certainly apply to Track Days so let us take a look at those now.

A Green Flag or Green Light means that the circuit is clear and maybe used to indicate the flag signalling posts

A Yellow Flag or a Yellow Light means danger ahead and you must take extra care, slow down and strictly no overtaking

A Red Flag or Red Light means that a session needs to be suspended so that an ongoing or more serious incident may be attended to without other vehicles on track. Under red flag conditions you must slow down and make your way back to the pit lane or as directed without overtaking other vehicles

A Yellow and Red Striped Flag means that the circuit conditions have changed and the surface may have lost some grip so take extra care.

A Blue Flag or Blue Light means that a faster car is following you and wants to pass, follow the rules of overtaking for the day and allow the other car to pass.

A Blag Flag implies a penalty in motorsport, on a track day it maybe that you have failed to notice a flag signal or breached the overtaking etiquette for the day in which case you return to the pits and the problem will be explained. This flag can also apply to a mechanical problem to your car so don’t ignore it!

The Chequered Flag, most famous Flag of all, is shown at the end of a Sighting Lap period or end of a session.

Following the Briefing there will be Sighting Lap sessions where you will follow one of our Club MSV Instructors in a Peugeot RCZ or other Course Car so that you are familiar with the circuit conditions and layout for the day. These sessions are conducted at a calm pace giving every opportunity to absorb the detail of the track and its environment. Watch out for the cones that have been placed to help you develop the ultimate “racing line†on the track.

Once the Sighting Laps are completed the circuit becomes ‘live’ for a Sessioned or Open Pit Lane Event.

Many Track Days are organised in sessions to match the expertise of the drivers, this is an excellent way for Novices to become familiar with the whole excitement of motorsport. Expert drivers will also be able to choose the most comfortable level for themselves as well.

Drivers will be asked to select their chosen level when booking for a day but it is often possible to change groups if you find that the other drivers on track are either more or less advanced that you have expected

An Open Pit Lane means that you are free to come and go into the pit lane throughout the day however it is important to discipline the time to preserve your concentration levels and to bear in mind wear and tear on the car

Throughout the day our experienced staff will be on hand for advice, from On Track Instruction or general help with getting going for the day, we can provide helmet hire and at most of our circuits we even have a petrol station to save you having to go and search for fuel.

Catering is well provided as all our circuits feature excellent food and great on site cafe facilities to ensure that it is not only the car that has the right fuel.

MSVT offers a variety of events based on the Track Day principle and as the expertise of a driver develops they may choose to consider the options that we have developed over years of motorsport experience.

Race Licence Testing, Advanced Track Driving Courses with Intensive One-to-One Tuition and even Advanced ARDS tests are all possible on a MSV Track Day with all the ingredients to springboard to a new racing career.

  7. Awesome and :welcome: mate.

By the looks of it, we'd get a bigger turnout on a GP day.

What would be looking at to make that happen?

Thank you all for the warm welcome.

It's understandable, session days aren't for everyone.

I can arrange a group discount on any days (including the Grand Prix circuit) if you had at lease 5 cars booking on for the day. The Grand Prix event coming up (07/07/14) is Open Pit Lane, but it always attracts a lot of GT style race cars and the event is expensive as we have so few of them.

  8. Hi I'm Stuart from MSVT, don't really want to say too much more than that as I aware that different forums have different rules regarding trading. Admin i have pm'd requesting further information on this.

Sorry it's taken a little while longer to get involved in the thread with the Blancpain GT series coming to Brands Hatch this weekend and having a really busy couple of events it's been non-stop for a week or so!

I've scanned the thread and hopefully can answer some questions:

Brands? If that's the GP circuit then I'm in! :D

Sorry it's going to be the Indy circuit.

I've got a reply of Brand on the 18th of august, £5,100 for an exclusive track session, if theres 30 of us, thats £170 each? which isn't too bad! The guy said he will sign up to the site after thursday as he's mega snowed under at the moment. so he can explain more i suppose.

    :)

Awesome, so when we say 'Exclusive Track Session' Is that all day we get the track? Or are we given different time slots throughout the day we get to go on at?

The typical day for this type of event is 3x 20minute sessions in the morning and 3x15 minute sessions in the afternoon

It's a 4 group day as we can only tag you into a Bike event at the moment - but it does make it significantly cheaper.

If it's Brands GP Circuit, I'm definitely in, regardless of the distance. Haven't been to Brands for years, but would LOVE to drive round it!

If you would like to do a group booking on a GP day i can arrange this also.

I'll find out for you guys, which track and the guy said maximum 28/30!

    28 ideally but 30 at a push.

Let me know if you want any more information guys.
