  1. Well we work in Kms where I'm from...but to clear things up yes my daily driver is my 04 and has 150 000 km

I have just bought a 07 with 65 000 km on the clock as I heard the internals are and motor are better suited for FI ( plus I got it for a deal) ... But more I was worried about boosting my 04 as I've given the motor a bit of a hard time during its life

    Tks

  2. Hi guys,

I've been building up a collection of bits to boost my 04 zed... Have rebuilt a vortech v2 system and bought all the aftermarket bits needed to fit it

My 04 zed is the love of my life, but has high mileage as a daily driver 10k miles ...I have however just made a deal with a mate and bought a 07 model with just over 4k miles, I did so as I heard the motors are better suited in the 07 models for FI ... Car has had a little work done to it and is running a healthy 328bhp at the moment

So the question is this ....... The main mounting vortech bracket is for a 04 DE motor, I know you get a 07 bracket.... But do you think I could modify the bracket I have? So it will fit the 07 ?

While I'm on the subject will nissan GTR 570cc injectors be plug and play with a 07 or would I also have to modify things to set these up

    Thanks in advance

    Daz

  3. Rules out the aftermarket bearings I have been told works then ;)

Just seen a reply from 928 motor sports on my personal email... They have the bearings and seals in stock, for the Vortech V2 SC Trim ( will see if I can get the bearing makes and the rpm limits before I order)

However they do not carry any other parts, and cannot get for this unit... Vortech only... They working on a shipped price so should have answers tomorrow

Thanks for the help guys.. I read a lot more then I post always lots of good advice and info on these pages

Ps... Last newbie question how the hell do you post a photo on your thread from the photo album on my iPhone?... Not a link etc the actual photo :)

  4. Thanks for the swift replys :)

I will PM the members mentioned above and see where that goes, I wish I could just send it back to get repaired but postage to of from South Africa is neither quick or safe... Don't think parts will ever return if I let them go

I have done research that states there is other well known high speed branded bearings I can replace the originals with but I'm skeptical as I would rather use originals

Tarmac was the supplier I was going to contact in the uk and searching the internet 928 motosports seems another option for rebuild kit

The last resort I have is I work in east Anglia and will be returning in a month or so is to bring the unit and get it rebuilt or even upgraded with a cash differance will I'm on contract

I have done some research on the net and come across a post from the past on another site of bearings that will work on the slow speed side the bearing is rated to 26.000 rpm, and the high speed side 45.000 rpm

I don't know much about the speeds these blowers run during operation perhaps someone can shed some light on this

    Thanks again

  5. Firstly I'm in South Africa and upgrades and performance parts are like hens teeth

I've managed to get hold of a used vortech V2 sc kit for my 04' zed

It seems to have run a bearing so I'm thinking about rebuilding it and getting a new impeller, I've heard of impeller upgrades will be looking into that

Can you only get bearings from vortech or can you match others up?

So the question is have any of you attempted this job and if none of the housings of blower are damaged can I just rebuild it and hopefully have no issues

I plan to do this on my own and wondered are there any tips or problems I might encounter

    Thanks in advance....

  6. I just tried that Richie like you said the went down and up but still are not operating as they should...

I just had aftermarket sound installed so It could be that this has come about as they would have had the battery disconnected

I'm going to pop into my mates auto electrical shop next week and hope I get a answer... At least I know it's not motors

    Cheers

  7. It seems to be a intermittent problem... I took the panel off and wiggled all the wires under the switches and I managed to get them both up again in closed position...

I then went to town with the windows up when I parked folded the mirrors in and all was fine... When I returned and pressed the button to put the mirrors back out both windows wound Down them selves and are stuck there again??

Maybe it's a faulty switch cluster on the drivers door below the switches???

  8. Hi,

I currently have a problem with my windows not working at all, as in not coming up or down. is this a fuse issue or is the window motor dead. It's on both windows they both went down this am and now stuck there in that position??

The central locking doesnt work when I use the lock button from the inside, but when i use the remote it works.

Is there a fuse I can look for? I don't think it's possible for 2 motors to just stop at the same time??

    Thank you in advance

    Daz

  9. I have a 2004, thats the DE engine is that right?

Those DC sports ones look the business :) just been looking them up

I will be Trying to fit these myself, have heard they can be a real pain in the ass to get off and on... Dont mind going for the copys if there is a little gain to be had and rather spend my money on a decent exhaust...

Sounds like its worth the effort of putting aftermarket ones on, be it the top money brands or the cheapies

Thanks for the quick answers Arron & Dblock

  10. As the title says aftermarket headers whats your take on them?

Who has them, are you happy with them, do you get any decent gain from one?

Ive spoken to a few people and some say the standard headers are plenty good enough, but also seen there are a lot of aftermarket ones for sale across the pond

Im looking at getting a exhaust and wondering what the pros and cons are with getting them

    Thanks

    Daz

  11. Im also after a decent front lip the mines carbon is nice where can i get these in the uk?

That Cupra R lip looks awesome too subtle is sometimes best... looking forward to a few more pics if you have

  12. First of all im new here... been reading for ages and still cant get my head around tyre sizes and off sets etc

i have a 2004 350z gunmetal grey... looking to add a nice set of rims and tyres... below is the rims i quite like the look of but wanted to ask you clever folk a few questions

    1. i truely have no idea what i would need to do to get these to fit will i get away with just a fender lip roll?

    2. Someone mentioned i would have to lower the zed to make space if so by how much??

    3. what size tyres would you recommed to have the best chance of no rubbing or damage?

This is the advice i was given wanted to just put this to a few forum members, before i part with my mrs xmas present money :)

**** if you put 245/35/19 and 265/30/19 these wheels will fit a standard car setup with a fender roll****

Thanks for all your help this is a great place for advice....
