  1. Planning to order some Motordyne bits, does anyone else want anything from them in the US? Andy
  2. what you need is something like GT4 alloys in smoked chrome (or whatever you call that colour) to go with that kit
  3. okay...*deleted* build thread continuing away from prying eyes...
  4. other thoughts... stubby aerial - not fussed and not sure i understand the fascination, look at the pics above, does it really stand out as a problem!? a mate also doesn't like the door handles, but I can't see why number plate plinth - okay, yes this will come off when my number plate goes on. breathing mods and remap - yep, on the agenda suspension - reconsidering this now as the stance is fine while I keep those wheels, which I will. ARBs maybe? tyres definitely, as it has Neken (?) all round
  5. decided on a principle of doing things once and doing them well (avoiding the word nice!), and been offered a deal on the motordyne which would support *any* future plans and have good resale value later...just worried that once I start modifying...
  6. that would be great, thanks
  7. looks good, just ordered an Ultra Yellow (E33) kit EDIT: In case anyone else does this with a UY: "Thank you for placing an order with us. Just to let you know, the colour you have ordered is a 3-stage paint. This means that to achieve the correct colour, it requires a solid ground coat, followed by a semi-transparent mid coat, followed by a clear lacquer. ...we have included both coats for you. All you need to do is apply the solid ground coat before the pearl mid coat, and then follow the mid coat with the clear lacquer. Please be aware that the final colour will depend heavily on the thickness of the mid coat, so it is best to build up the thickness in a number of very thin layers until the correct colour is achieved."
  8. I can vouch for the fitment, thanks, it's a straight swap, just screws on. The 5 gear decal is for sticking somewhere so doesn't affect the use of 6 gears!
  9. nothing, huh? Any advice on where else to look for one?
  10. Yes please! 1. Arran 2.Russ 3.Cs2000 4.Mike46 5.GT4 Zed 6 .glrnet 7.dashurik 8. andysmee
  11. Hi, I'd like a spare cubby hole cover to mount my phone holder onto, and to keep my original to go back on the car if i sell it. Has anyone got one surplus to requirements? It's to fit a RHD 2005 model, for the avoidance of doubt! Or, has anyone found an elegant way to mount a phone holder in front of the sat nav screen, since the sat nav's not as good as my phone! Andy
  12. see here http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/77659-most-comfortable-seats-that-fit-a-350z/
  13. What? when? :-) Looks like mine, the day I picked it up, back when it was a £28k car I thought you previously owned mine! I reckon, now, that there were three UY's with the kit from the factory, from reading back through things
  14. Thanks, I usually swear by Brodit as well, in fact I'd bought the holder before I picked up the car. However, because of the extra speaker for the sat nav which goes through the panel next to my left knee, the holder both won't stay on, and also gets kneed off frequently when I change gear. Also, in that position I can't see my phone which makes sat nav on it a bit pointless. I'd rather mount the phone in the sat nav screen position, as it makes a whole load more sense, ergonomically. Any ideas gratefully received..
  15. So, after a few weeks of debate I've decided to keep my GT4, and use it as the starting point for what I want it to be...my goal would be forced induction, to put to bed the demons of my RX-7 build which never quite delivered in 7 years of ownership (although at 324rwhp, it wasn't exactly a let down along the way ) I picked up the car from a guy in Plymouth who had not serviced it as often I I would have liked, in fact it was due a service, so it was a bit of a punt, but after taking it to a couple of people I trust, and getting an extraordinary full service and MOT, it was declared clean and it runs as sweet as it looks. Without further ado, here's how the car is starting on its journey with me in Reading.. Andy
  16. the answer's no, you can't fit a child seat in the boot...pics to follow EDIT: It looks like I didn't try very hard but you can't get the seat through from in front of the strut brace. There is an outside chance of getting the seat into the boot from the cab itself but I didn't reckon it would work with my seat. You may have a smaller seat that would work. This is a Britax Evolva 1,2,3 (I think it's Britax)
  17. I am trying this tomorrow so I'll let you know. my two year old likes being in the car and it's 100% legal, in a forward facing seat, but the AA advise moving the seat back as far as poss.
  18. You're welcome to drive a 300bhp uprev if you want to compare, I'm only in Reading
  19. good luck with your search, I'm looking in the same region, coming from an RX-7
  20. I know Dave and Alan well - mapped Alans 200SX and helped get Daves mental RX7 Motec sorted so it'd start lol...good answer! I look forward to meeting you at some point!
  21. For non-specialist but good knowledge of Japanese modified cars, try AC Mechanical and Thames Valley MOTs. The owners have had a string of RX-7's including a triple rotor track car that they're building and 350Z's, 200SX, etc etc etc.
  22. off to davos in december with my board. skiing's for old men
