I have the nismo spoiler as well
how did you do that with the boot opening?
Followed this guide: http://www.350z-uk.com/index.php?showtopic=35706
Bear in mind that pennies might break through the plastic cover and damage your paintwork, so some people have used rubber washers instead. Personally, I went with pennies.

Hi there!
-
Installed my first mod today. It was a big one, guys, you'll be impressed with me. Cost a grand total of... 4p!
Yep, that's right, I can now open my boot with one hand.
Another difficult project coming up, too - I need a stubby aerial and a tax disc holder!
-
That's a massive help, thanks!
I don't actually have the valet key, and no key-tag with the NATS code - I'm hoping the code has been written down and squirrelled away in one of the books or something.
Looks like you can pick up Supercode pretty cheaply - I take it the hardware you need to program the keys is pretty pricey?

Hi guys,
My 56 plate GT (Oct 2006) only shipped with one key, so I'd really like to source a replacement or two. I don't particularly want to spend a fortune with the stealer, though. After thoroughly searching the forums, I think I've cracked it, but ideally I'm just after someone to take a look and say "yep, that would work" or "nope, you're being an idiot" .
Step 1: Find a replacement key fob. My current key is labelled SWK4 876/818 433 MHz. I believe something like this is what I'm after:
http://www.ebay.co.u...=item338490b4c8
Step 2: Find a replacement key blade, and get it cut (any old key cutter on the high street or whatever).
Step 3: Buy a new transponder chip. This one?:

Step 4: Reprogram keys following GIXXERUK's guide:
http://www.350z-uk.c...ob/#entry248776
I'm bound to have missed something, so I'd love it if someone could just give me a or a .
Cheers!

EDIT: The only thing I don't quite understand is where the NATS code fits in. I don't think I've got one but will double-check the books that came with the car in-case it's hanging around in one of them.

That's rubbish, sorry to hear about the keying
Welcome!

Found the penny trick guide, so that's tonight's job. Here's a link for those who might not know about it: http://www.350z-uk.com/index.php?showtopic=35706

Ok! Two (minor) problems that in no way detract from the MASSIVE grin on my face during the drive to work this morning . Firstly, my boot doesn't open easily - it's a two-hand job, requires the button being pressed twice, and it weighs as much as the moon (that last bit may not be entirely accurate). I remember reading about a penny trick; can anyone shed any light?
Secondly, my OEM sat nav is hideously out of date. I'll most likely use my phone anyway, to be honest, but I'm a bit picky about these things - if I've got the OEM unit, I want to have the most up-to-date maps even if I don't use them much . Obviously I don't want to spend £300 or whatever on an official Nissan update DVD. Have you guys had any experience with the various sites around the web selling cheap update DVDs? I think I also read that you can use the Renault Carminat disks?
I'll do a forum search for these, of course, but I figured maybe some of you guys had experience with one or both of these things!

Had a lovely 1hr drive home where I managed to give her a proper workout, and I'm happy as Larry right now. Quick, responsive, and oh my gosh the V6 sound.... Best purchasing decision ever.
Couple of quick notes, mainly for my own benefit as it'll motivate me to actually do something...
The rear Nismo spoiler is a bit too flash for my tastes, and severely restricts the view. I need to replace it with a tasteful lip, I think.
The car came with a 3rd-party Bluetooth unit (Novero TheTrulyOne) which I need to take out and sell (will pop it in the For Sale forum - it's a pretty good unit but I don't need it).
The Bose system, while not brilliant, is actually better than I was expecting. Happy days; that'll push back the priority on my ICE install.
I need to fit my Pioneer X3500-DAB HU and order a Brodit clip.
Need to buy (for starters, in the short term): air filter, oil and rad caps, stubby aerial, gear knob.
Edit: And sort out a spare key!

love at first drive then?
It's quite funny, really. When I took it for a test drive, I drove progressively and properly tested it out so to speak. Now I own it, though, you should have seen how gently I treated it (and how slowly I drove) on the way back to work!
Will give it a good run out this evening.

Trying to remain objective for a minute... there are definitely some downsides to go with the plus sides.
For instance, my productivity at work today has taken a nosedive because I can see her out of the window.

Well, quick status report:
WOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO
That is all.

Thanks guys. One hour to go... I don't think I've been this excited, well, ever really. Don't tell my wife or daughter that, though
-
Hey folks. I pick up my 350Z today, and am ABSURDLY excited.
After a pretty poor car history, this is by far the best car I've owned...
1990 Ford Escort 1.3
1999 Renault Clio 1.2
2000 Fiat Punto 1.9 JTD
2004 Honda Civic 1.6 Sport
2008 Seat Altea 2.0 TDI FR
I went for a 2006 facelift GT with Nismo body kit (although one of the first things I'll do is get rid of that bloody spoiler and add a more subtle lip) in black. Completely stock, low mileage, and beautiful .
I'm going to use her as an opportunity to get my hands a bit dirty and get some maintenance and installation experience, since until now all I've done is checked the oil and water in all of the cars I've owned, preferring to send them to stealers to get stuff sorted out. That's going to end, with any luck.
I've already got a shopping list as long as my arm of bits I want to buy for my little baby - this forum is going to bankrupt me, I swear.
Anyway - I had a quick question for you guys. My car is only coming with one key, which worries me a little. Am I being just paranoid in wanting to get a new one cut, and to reprogram the code at the same time in-case there's another key out in the wild somewhere? If you guys have had to replace keys, can you recommend anywhere from personal experience? I'm in the South Wales area during the week and Gloucestershire on the weekends.
I've enjoyed lurking here for the last few weeks while researching, so thanks a bunch for the awesome forum.
