  1. The nismo trained specialists in my dealership have been brilliant, always know what to look for and have had some great advice. car was in limp mode a few weeks ago and in the time I walked round to the service desk they had read the codes found the throttle potentiometer had failed and offered to have a new one fitted by next morning. They also upgrade and look after a number of heavily modded cars including a 1100hp gtr that they had done all the work to and loads of upgraded zeds. I've been very happy with them.
  2. Maybe, someone is aiming for this...? www.stuff.tv/news/referring-mates-buy-tesla-model-s-could-earn-you-free-model-x
  3. Did it originally in 2006 just as the garage was built, the drive is gravel and the tyres bring it in and wear it out, but I only did the recoat this year in may. The stuff is cheap and easy to put down and dries quick. More expensive is an epoxy resin paint, builds up quicker and should last longer. Next time I am going for a light grey 3mm safety flooring www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Altro-Contrax-Safety-Flooring-Commercial-heavy-duty-anti-slip-vinyl-floor-SAVE-/350772485332?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&var=&hash=item51abab5cd4
  4. Did my double garage with 10L of trade floor paint from tool station (3 coats). www.toolstation.com/m/part.html?p=64607
  5. There are a couple of events due in your area I'm sure a couple of coupe and roadster owners will be willing to take you out. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/97283-tarmac-sportz-charity-meet-1st-august-2015/ http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/100212-23rd-august-sunday-morning-breakfast-drive/
  6. We do a 2-3k run to Italy every year, never have I felt the roadnoise was an issue and until this post had never even thought about it, we have the roadster and to be honest have only ever listened to the great sounding exhaust note. Roof up it quieter than our focus (in titanium trim), admittedly wind noise with the roof down is intrusive, but keeping it below 81 (European 130 kmh limit) means you can still have a conversation without shouting. I have done 10hrs straight in it and not felt tired/fatigued from excessive noise levels, it was a run from Amalfi up to the French border so most of it was on motorways at speed, and we only stopped because we had somewhere booked, we could have easily carried on. Don't know where the information came from but I'd try getting in a zed and make up your own mind before changing the setup that Nissan spent millions to develop.
  7. Friend of mine went to a fast fit place and they put the wider rear tyres on the narrower front rims and visa versa, ha said the car drove s#it until it was noticed and swapped back. I remember being told that if you put on a tyre that is too wide for the wheel it will pull the sides in and bows out the centre of the tread pattern? Have you checked the wheel and tyre combinations?

  9. "sadly I dont think the 370Z was one of them" Sadly, probably you're right.
  10. Yep I agree, "modded" cars are indeed all over the place and range from a few hundred quid to maybe 5-6k, but I can't remember the last time i saw a "good" original, low mileage car (that wasn't an import). Again loads of 3000s, mostly non turbo versions, but most with problems with their extensive and complicated electrical systems especially the active aeros, but there's one on autotrader (non turbo) for 20k Its just experience that tells me that if you have the space to keep a car and look after it, it will appreciate. I used to have a 5.7L 1973 transam, then I had a 5.0 1973 mustang mach 1 fastback, both were sold for a few grand, had I kept them both I'd have got considerably more, and I had the space to do so, certainly I haven't found an even half descent one recently for less than 15k. Mk 1 XR3i sold for £1100 in 1996 (and aweful to drive compared to the zed), try and get a good one now and its 10k plus, autotrader has a mk2 for £30k! I'm still sure that good 350s and 370s, especially any special editions, won't take long to bottom out.
  11. ...and worth about 47p. Ha! That said, good 90s celicas, supras and Mitzi 3000 GTOs arnt cheap any more.
  12. Yea, it'll get to 60 bloody quick but 50 miles down the road you've got an 8 hr charge to look forward to, the zed may be slower off the blocks but I can go 300+ miles and in 3-4 minutes be paying for fuel and continuing my journey. Pan European road trips are a distant goal for any performance EV's, unless you want to take couple of months off work...even then what fun would it be without the great sound of your v6/v8 (whatever) in the mountains and tunnels...
  13. Mine''s a keeper anyway but with numbers that low its probably not long till they become a bit of a classic. I wonder how many of those 7008 & 1892 cars are still original factory spec? Not many I suspect as nearly everyone has got an aftermarket exhaust, stubby aerial, upgraded stereo, wheel spacers or a induction kit of some kind? Admittedly all intended to improve the car now but when the cars are another 20-30 years old an original will rare as "rocking horse s#it"!
  14. Great thread, the left speaker had just started to cut out intermittently so did it this afternoon and did the i-pod hack at the same time, only took a couple of hours, many thanks.
  15. Only the black demonstrator in the showroom that I could see
  16. I don't think they got the shape right with the 370 roadster, the rear quarters are too high it looks a little ungainly, I have always preferred the 350 roadster and the 370 coupe, good excuse to have one of each I suppose. The new nismo roadsters side profile just looked better with the bigger rear wing it sort of evened it out a little and overall I preferred the look. Just gonna have to be a coupe then.
  17. He just said he had seen the specs and images that Nissan had released through the network. Mine will be ordered in red...
  18. I know its only been released as a concept, but I hope they release the 2015 shape nismo roadster...
  19. I used to work in a motor factors and we would sell loads of traffic film remover (TFR) to the lorry companies, it is usually concentrated and strips off everything and is pretty cheap. I now buy it in 25l drums (lasting several years) and dilute it 50/50 water to use it in a sprayer. Within seconds of it going on the bumper the bugs are starting to dissolve, a minute or so later and they wipe off with no rubbing. Its Also great on upvc windows, oil stained floors and VERY diluted, upholstery. Note of warning though, its really strong stuff, it will strip the oils from the paint if you don't regularly give it a coat of wax afterward (probably why so many lorry's have faded paint) and if you use it too strong on upholstery or vinyl roofs (10 tfr/90 water) the stitching will dissolve and it'll fall apart, believe me it happened to an old boat cover I had. I usually now spray the front of the car, engine bay and wheels, then go and fill the snow foam tank, come back give it a little gentle agitation then snowfoam the whole car, dry it and wax it, a couple of hours and its like new.
  20. Welcome Always loved the chilli red, any pics?
  21. Mine is a UK car and has the blue roof too. Love the grey though.
