  1. Hi guys. my dealership is in cornwall, from where i purchased my car. quite frankley they are useless including there warranty guy. if you read my original piece. the body shop broke the original news and when i reacted to what they were saying, they suggested taking this up with nissan custormer service. which i duely did and then found that the guy from customer service came across as very arrogant, obviously he never had a clue about a car and was constantly reading from a script . could not answer a straight forward question, even when i asked to speak with his line manager and then the manager of his department he refused saying he was my case manager, things only changed when i ask what was the process for making a complaint did he tell me somone would contact me in the next 24hrs which ended 2 weeks later. where i got to talk to some one that would listen rationaly ie doing a repair to areas how would they warranty if it came back, as the bodyshop would not guarantee that sort of repair.

I constantly pited the garage warranty and nissan warranty and customer service against each other, and the fact that not only did i have full history But the body work section was fully stamped.[which i explaind was payed for and nissan had taken the money with no intention of paying out in an event of now ]it then took a month to finaly find out that they would finaly replace the bonnet. the whole procedure has taken 4months and a lot of time on the phone, to be honest i don't think i would bother again. they probably gave in as i was a pain in the ass.

I really do think it's down to every individual and not down to a paticular dealership.

Good, I like being a pain in the ass! That was my planned strategy anyway.... :boxing:

Took a call from Nissan customer service this morning , with some good news. There going to replace the Bonnet on my 350z :teeth:

But have decline the rust on wing, how ever they say whilst in the body shop get them to investigate the wing, and if neccessary submit another claim. :(

I guess i should be happy, but it has been a hard old slog fighting against -dealer warranty, nissan warranty and for most customer services.

just got to book in the body shop now. phew!!!

Which dealership did you take your car too? I have tried 3 in east Anglia now with no luck :(

Keen to know this too as currently waiting on a call back from Glynn Hopkin Leyton in London....the more ammo I have for them the better!
  3. Dealers initial response was "Only 6 year warranty on corrosion on that mate". Nice try buddy. Handed over the printouts of this thread, they took pictures, and said they will give me a call in a couple of weeks. As Ebized says above my local dealer has an onsite bodywork department so it should be in their interests to get this work authorised. Besides if Nissan UK authorise it for one then they theoretically should honour other similar claims......you'd think? :)

  4. Hi Leo, are you still looking? Been thinking about selling mine to move to a Porker. I've got a GM 2004 with 47K, no mods (except stereo), Full Dealer SH (with exception of last one done by my mechanic for me when he picked up the car), GT pack, and in really good nick. It just flew through an MOT without any issues or advisories (except that they couldn't see all parts for the engine cover??! Random!), plenty of tyre life left too. Not got it up for sale as frankly really like it, in no need of the money, and not convinced a 911 is going to offer a lot more except higher bills lol but would be interested in any potential offers around the amount you listed. Best G.

  5. Had an inspection done on my Z by a private guy who does AA inspections too, if nothing else it helps non-techies like me identify issues that will need attention and can be reflected in a price reduction on the vehicle as well as giving piece of mind that you aren't getting a cut and shut or something with a proper mechanical issue that I might well miss. I spotted quite a few things that he picked up, but it was worth getting the expert opinion for a couple of hundred quid when you are spending ten grand if you don't really know what you are looking for.....

Mind you if I'd known before that I could get a Z guru to look it over for price of a crate of beer I'd have probably taken that option! :drunk:

  6. Just bought one two weeks ago, am getting about 24mpg but you don't buy a sports car for fuel consumption....plenty of cars with better fuel consumption

If you're serious about a sports car then better quality fuel, tyres, brakes etc are all a must so its probably going to become your next biggest expense after your mortgage.....

It is fun though and if you get a good example and look after it and it isn't for you then sell it on and get yourself a 3 series diesel?

    Go for it!!!

  7. No mate, sorry, i dont know anyone useful really when it comes to cars. Itey and do everything myself.

What dont you like aboit it. I have no issues with mine, but ymthen im happy if

I can just put my music on an drive around. Never really been into ice.

I can't take anymore radio 2 and its only been a week :)

I want to be able to play music through the iPhone really primarily. Found the iPhone hack here on the forum but it'd be a disaster if I attempted it myself

Just trying to work out whether best to buy the BT adaptor on ebay and then leave the stereo or just have the iPod hack or just replace it with a real nice double din head unit....

    Decisions, decisions....LOL :bang:

  8. Any recommendations for someone who can either install a new HU or even just do the iPhone hack in East London?

I have an annoying habit of breaking anything I attempt like this due to a chronic rage issue when confronted with non-functioning electrical appliances and would rather pay for someone who knows that they are doing to fix it!

Made the mistake of asking at Halfords in Mile End, hopeless, it was like they had all been abducted by aliens and lobotomised. :bangin:

Also, my car lives on the street here in East London so any recommendations on the best 'thief-proof' options for upgrading are welcome? Those Double din screens must be like a red rag to a bull for plucky car criminals....

Apologies if any of this has been covered, my patience ran out at page 9 of searching....

    Thanks

  9. Hey all,

Picked up my Zed today :yahoo: , straight to a mechanic for new tyres, brakes, and a decent service with the detailing to come at the weekend. I'm based in colourful East London so am currently researching the idea of renting an off-road parking space for it as a bit worried about damage on my double-parked street (and am doubly precious about the local hooded community leaving their mark on it).

It's my first motor in two years since selling my Golf Gti. Apart from Green Pedal and Red Pedal my knowledge of cars is appalling :bangin: so hoping I'll pick up some tips on here (already found some reviews so have Falken tyres going on tomorrow - £100 a piece fitted and getting all four done as per Dan's recommendation).

Found a bit of a diamond used model, will post some pics after the paintwork gets some loving at the weekend. Can see this is going to become an expensive but fun hobby!

Oh well less money to spend on :drunk:
