  1. Ok, so for the last week I've been driving with a/c on, I have done about 50 miles. The air is cool and dry, no bad smell or anything like that. One thing I have noticed is terrible whining that is revs-dependant. Speed is irrelevant, but when i rev the car, whether it's in the car park or during the trip, on the move, the whining gets louder and the pitch of the sound goes up with the revs. The problem dissapears when I switch the a/c off. Not sure if its normal, but at idle rpm with a/c on I get the sound just like the one you hear when the radiator fan is on. My worry is it's the a/c compressor on its way out. Anyone had similar problems?

  2. It's not an advert but surely if any of you watched Dexter TV series you've noticed a yellow Zed with Nismo bodykit. It was just a 2 seconds scene, but one I remembered :) Can't remember which season or episode though... Maybe at some point I will decide to re-watch and then let you know :-)

  3. TBH I don't like the noise from the A/C compressor, but if it could only help then I shall start using it more often now. I did have taken the centre console apart a few times, but every time I was extremely careful with all the cables and bands - maybe not careful enough? Everything is working properly, all switches operate without a problem. Could it be the on/off switch itself?

  4. Hi All,

it's been a while since my last post, nevertheless it's nice to be back. Here it is: normally I drive with a/c off, I prefer to have the windows down, enjoy the fresh air and that lovely note coming from the back. From time to time unfortunately my Zed decides to switch the air con on on full blast, even though the switch is in off position! I'm not 100% sure but as far as I can remember it only happens in warm/dry weather (because the I usually switch it off). I normally then give it a tap near the on/off switch and it goes off. Ok, no harm done, still makes me worry. Anyone had the same problem? btw, mine is 2005 GT4. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

  5. The leds are wired to lighter socket and one of the xenon fuses uder the bonnet, so they are very bright when headlights are off and a bit dimmer when they're on. Took me and my mate that was helping me (thanks Marcin) 7 hours to finish.

  6. Right, found someone with the OBDII reader - no errors found  I haven't re-tried the manual method, but I will today. The results may vary though as I had the battery disconnected nearly whole Saturday...

  7. Ok, I'll try to establish what is the error number in the first place. Thanks for the offer, if I don't get it sorted over the weekend I might come and see you for help.

  8. Here's my beauty, no. 123/176, bought on 21.04.2012...

    Currently 31,000 miles,

    No performance mods,

Other mods: reverse parking sensors, red/amber leds under the seats, camera in LHS top corner of windshield (for overtaking in Europe) - connected to Alpine sat nav (already there when I bought Her), boot cargo net.

In the future: another camera for LHS deadzone, bose stereo phono hack, LED DRLs in the bumper.

  9. Hi All, today I tried the manual method of checking the engine codes, so as per ECU reset procedure i played with the stopwatch and the acceleration pedal, and I think it worked well, except that results are a bit of a mystery to me... What I got were 2 long blinks, then 10 short ones, again 10 short ones, and then 1 short. After that it starts again, so 2 long ones, 10 short ones etc... So can anybody tell me if I'm right saying it's a P2001 code, if so what does it mean?I could'n find anything on the web, maybe someone here has got a complete list of error codes for 350z? I'm thinking of completing the reset procedure, but could that have any "side effects"? And would 2001 error still be there after the ECU reset? Car works just fine, I bough it 2 months ago (UY GT4 #123/176 - loooove it :yahoo: ), don't really have any problems, it recently had the P3 service done, everything seems to be ok. I've got the clicking CV joint problem to sort out, but afaik that's got nothing do to with OBDII codes. I don't want to dig to deep, because "if it ain't broken-don't fix it", hehe. But still it would be nice to know for sure if it's something to worry about... Any ideas?
